In the meanwhile I got my sleepstudy done and I have a Upper Airway Resistance Syndrome or UARS and high cholesterol. i sent my apeal letter end of February  and so far no decision has been made :-( I really hope I will get approved this time. My current weight is 221lbs and my height is 5.4 . Someone else here who is still waiting for approval?

Swinging lizards you get your approval this time. I hate the way they make us jump through hoops to get this surgery. Keep us posted.

hope it works for you.  Thankfully, I didn't need to appeal but seems like we have others that did.  I know we have some waiting for surgery.  I'll be swinging for you too.

I hope you get your approval soon.

Will weight loss help with the UARS?  Is it similiar to sleep apnea - that is what I had.  Do you have to use a CPAP?

Good luck and keep us updated when you can.

Yes the weight loss will help for sure since it started when i gained the weight. I just had my second sleepstudy done on thursday with the mask, so now I am waiting to see my doctor again. I will keep you updated and I hope soon I can tell all of you when my surgery date will be :-) finger crossed

I am in the documentation phase and have not yet submitted my request to my insurance company.  I am worried they will reject me though.  I did my sleep study last week 3/12/12 and reached out to my surgeon's office today to find out the results.  I will keep my fingers crossed for you,  Its hard enough making the decision to have surgery without have to fight with insurance for it... don't they understand that this helps them as much as it does us?
