I am 2 3/4 years out now. I vary between 124 to 128 pounds. If I get to 128, I go back to strictly protein. My doctor wants me to be at about 130, but I won't go over 128 for personal reasons. I am too afraid of additional regain if I let myself get to 130.

Good luck and God Bless!

Hugs,

Liz

I wish I had lost more than my goal to allow for regain.  I hit my goal, and at its highest, I rebounded 8 pounds.  My mistake was giving myself a 5 pound window.  I've noticed most *****sponded to your question allowed themselves to have a 2 pound range.  I have not weighed yet this morning, but as of yesterday, I was still 6 pounds above goal.  Like one poster said...It is not rocket science or a mystery.  When I fail to exercise regularly and maintain healthy, mindful eating I bounce up.

Dasie,

I am only 4'11" on a good day and I thought a 5 lb windown would be too  high for me, since every pound at this weight seems to make a difference. My PCP still says 5 lbs, but for me, I am trying to keep it at 2 lbs. I'm in the middle of my BMI range, where I hope to maintain. I do have some muscle and I'm not small framed, so the middle seems to be working for me.

I didn't exercise as much last week and I saw the scale move up a bit, so exercise is vital during maintenance.

I think a 2 pound range is a good range.  Even at 5'9" five pounds is too much.  I can tell it in my clothes.  I wish I had muscle.  I am always amazed to see people my same height who weight much more than I yet wear smaller clothes.  It is usually because they have a larger frame, so their bones weigh more where mine was more fat related.  It is a balancing act for sure.

Definitely a balancing act!  I too think that five pounds is too big a range.  It takes me weeks to shed two pounds so I just don't want to go there.

Unfortunately I learned that the hard way.  Same here.  It is so hard to lose even a couple pounds.  I mistakenly assumed those quick easy 5 pound shifst would always continue, like when in the honeymoon phase,  if I used just a little more effort.  They don't.  It takes a lot of effort, and even then, the scale may not move.  It is frustrating. It is 4:15 am, I just weighed and I am back up 2, which means 8 from my goal.  This is why I advocate going lower than goal while losing.

I couldn't do a 2 pound range because within 1 week timeframe my weight will vary by as much as 4 pounds just from fluctuations in water. If I weigth 120 on Monday and 122 on Tues, but by Friday I'm 118, I know none of that is from changes in how much fat or muscle I have!

I will say that wasn't true when I was only 1-2  years out. When I was going down, I fluctuated less.

I am 3 1/4 years out. At 2 years I went up about 3 pounds but in the last 6 months I have gained another 5 pounds or so. I know it's not the tool. It's all about my choices.....which havent been the best lately. It is very scary! I go to bed saying tomorrow is the day I start this over....same mind thoughts prior to surgery. I commend all that can just rein it in when needed. I didn't get this far to screw this up though :-) I can do it....which is why I am back on the boards to get the support I used to from here.

I am in the PS consultation phase and would like to see your photos if you do not mind.

It is scary.  It is really difficult to lose even a couple at this stage.  I do the same.  I go to bed at night and say tomorrow is a new day.  If I just did what I did on my pre op it would help shed these 8 pounds.  My plan today is to eat/drink a shake or yogurt every 3 hours, beginning at 6
