Rebound question
I am pretty happy with the weight I'm at now, but thought I would lose about 5-10# more for rebound. I don't want to lose too much cuz of the loose skin.

My question is does everyone automatically gain back 5-10%? Is the percentage of body weight or amount of weight lost?

Thanks!
Sorry I didn't read other recent post untill after I posted this because I'm on my phone.
Thx!
Some might rebound up to 5 pounds. Anymore than that has nothing to do with the sleeve and everything to do with our choices of what to put into it. They think the first 5 is unnecessary if we eat protein first and don't eat recreationally.
They also say that if we can get through months 18-24 with no regain, we have a better shot at lifetime maintenance. The way that I interpret this is that we have shown that we learned our new healthy habits during the first two years.
I go to Weigh****chers even though I weigh daily at home, just for addition accountability.
At two years out I have a two pound range. 141-143. I go up and down based on sodium. If I see 143.2 I pull back on carbs and add protein. This morning 141.8 after vacationing for three days. I will still be careful on the corned beef this week because of the sodium.

I am at 18.5 months out and have been maintaining within a 2 lb range (108-110.5) since last April. Today, I am at the higher range and attribute this to not exercising as much last week and of course, more calories.
I allow myself this two pound window, because if it goes higher, I know that it will be more difficult to rein in.
The bariatric internist in my program said that 5 lbs rebound is very common, but anything more is due to increased eating and calories. She also said that sometimes, people may drop too low and bounce back a few pounds to a more comfortable weight
I think 5% rebound may be acceptable, but 10% regain is excessive and may be more common with the malabsorptive surgeries. JMHO.

I do think enough people rebound that it's better to go a bit low, than to be absolutely sure that YOU will not rebound and then be surprised and unhappy when it happens. OTOH, it's not worth driving yourself crazy to do so.
