Friday, just for fun
happy St Patties day, almost. Let's get to know each other somemore.
1. Do you celebrate St Patties? Is there some Irish in your blood?
2. Is it spring yet at your house? What is blooming?
3. Will warm weather change your exercise or eating habits?
1. Irish runs in both my family and my DH but we don't really celebrate. DH will have a beer but he has one most nights no matter what day it is.
2. It is definately spring in the mountains of WNC. Daffodils, forcycthia and pears are blooming like crazy. The crocus have come and gone. I'm had my grass mowed 2x, never remember doing that before in early March.
3. I will definately be outside more in the nice weather. I didn't feel the heat as bad last year as a smaller person and I hope that will hold true for this summer as well. With my knee doing better, I am planning on starting to drive the ponies when I get back in April from Fla. I haven't figured out how I am going to do the ponies and the gym but hopefully I can work in both. I have already started the garden and that will keep me a little busy too.
In the spring and summer, when the garden is in, we eat almost entirely from the garden with cheese and meat added from the store. I love being able to go out and pick spinach to cook with my eggbeaters in the mornings.

I am pretty sure my grandfather was part Irish. We don't do anything to celebrate though.
The weather at our house is beautiful now. Our azaleas are blooming. The bad thing is everything is yellow because pollen is horrible. My BIL said we might go see the cherry blossoms while we are visiting them since they have started blooming early.
I will definitely be outside more walking/jogging since it is warmer.
Linda
Yes, we celebrate. We take it as a time to spend with friends. Neither of us are Irish.
2. Is it spring yet at your house? What is blooming?
It is Spring here and the blue bonnets are blooming along with other wild flowers. It is a beautiful time of year here.
3. Will warm weather change your exercise or eating habits?
We'll be getting on our bikes more often. I'm looking forward to that time. DH will grill more.
Kay
1. Even though my hubby is part iris, we really dont celebrate. Here in Cleveland there will be the annual parade tomorrow morning.
2. Daffodils started to bloom here yesterday, I dont know where my crocuses went, chipmunks maybe? The trees are started to show buds too.
3. The nicer weather will have me outside on my bike and walking with my Buddy even more. Not to mention all the gardening. I think my eating habits will stay about the same. But it will be easier to get more veggies in during the summer when I can get them fresh and local.
1. Celebrate St. Patties? No we don't. When I was younger and wilder, it was a good excuse to drink green beer. Which I did in great quantities. These days not much wild partying going on!
2. Spring? We have had such a mild winter it's hard to tell if Spring is here or not. 71 degrees today, so I'm going to say yes. However, you never know when we will get a snowstorm. We have had snow on Memorial Day here. Of course, it doesn't usually stay around very long, but there you go.
3. Warm weather and exercise? YES! Especially this year. Besides being overweight, I have a rare condition called Chronic Compression Syndrome. It was finally diagnosed in August of last year. It took over 2 years of various tests and treatments. I had bilateral fasciectomies in September to release the fascia in my shins. I was at a point where I could not walk more than 5 minutes without having to stop and wait for the pain to subside. I am now pain free and can walk 2 miles at a time. We live in one of the most beautiful states with great hiking trails. I finally get to go see some of them!!!!
sure about my ancestry
2. Is it spring yet at your house? It should still be winter but we are in the mid 70's
What is blooming? I seen some tulips and daffodils coming up and my azealas have buds
on them.
They are going to start digging the hole for DD#3's house tomorrow
because the weather is so beauty.
3. Will warm weather change your exercise or eating habits? I'll be outside a lot more with the
grandkids so that will mean more exercise. I keep saying I'm going to walk every day
but I haven't yet but maybe this will be the year.
We will be grilling a lot more and I'll be going to the Farmer's Market for my fruits and
we will be planting a few vegetables.

God is walking with me every step of the way. Because of HIM this is possible!!

No, we don't celebrate. I'm not sure of our ancestry, but with my fair skin and reddish hair, I think so :)
2. Is it spring yet at your house? What is blooming?
It is Spring here, almost felt like summer today-a high of 85 degrees. My Azaleas are blooming. I wish my dogwood tree would, but it's not :(
3. Will warm weather change your exercise or eating habits?
walking and grilling more
As far as I know there is no Irish in my blood. I don't really celebrate St Patrick's day.
2. Is it spring yet at your house? What is blooming?
Still rainy and dreary around here. Was a bit nicer today. Honestly, I don't know much about flowers except they are pretty.
3. Will warm weather change your exercise or eating habits?
I am looking forward to being able to ride my bike more. I'm working out in the gym trying to build up my leg strength so I can tackle hills. That is the only part of bike riding I don't like.
As far as eating, I will probably start drinking cold coffee drinks instead of hot ones. I may do some cooking outdoors, too.

2. Is it spring yet at your house? What is blooming? - It sure feels like spring or early summer. Our bulbs are blooming and our neighbors' trees. I have crocus and daffodils--oh, and my Hostas are coming up.
3. Will warm weather change your exercise or eating habits? - I should be able to get outside to walk more. The farmers market opens in May and they'll have some tomatoes and peppers and such to plant. I can hardly wait for their fresh produce to come in. I love fresh tomatoes.

2. The weather is definitely springs. Been sleeping with the windows open all week. Forsythia and magnolia trees are in bloom and I am starting to sniff, sniff from my allergies.
3. With warm weather the farmer markets will open and I will get fresher veggies. I also tend to eat more raw food. I have already increased my excercise. It is so much more fun to run outside than on a treadmill.
