Getting to know you
Central WI
2. Tell me a little bit about your family.
I am married to my wonder DH who also had WLS the same day as me, he did the RNY and I had the sleeve. I have 5 children, 2 step sons and 1 grandson. I love bve being a grandma!!

3. What have been your biggest challenges since you started your journey? I would say my biggest challenge is the fact that I havent lost any weight for 15 days. I am 4 1/2 weeks out and have only lost 15 pounds. Im not complaining because I did lose 17 pounds before surgery, but its still frustrating. Thanks to this board I know that it will pass, I just need to keep my head up high and look to my healthier future.
4. What have been your biggest reward or aha moments?
Biggest reward so far would be that I can once again cross my legs. I havent been able to do that comfortably for about 3 years now, It feels great!
I am so glad you posted this. Even though I have posted here, it is so nice to find out about everyone. I am going to save this. Here I go!
1. Where do you live? What do you like best about where you live and what do you like worst.
I live in Indianapolis. I love it! Indy is a nice size, very sports oriented and friendly. I love all the seasons, but like others, our winter was very mild this year.
2. Tell me a little bit about your family.
I, too, am a RN. I work in oncology & am going to graduate school to be a NP. Will graduate 5/2013. I am married and we have a blended family - I have two daughters and one step daughter & step son. We have five grandsons, the oldest turned 5 today. We also will have another baby in October. My youngest daughter gets married in October too. My daughters live about 5-10 minutes away.
3. What have been your biggest challenges since you started your journey?
I haven't had (knock on wood) any medical problems at all. Now that I am about where I want to be, I believe the biggest challenge is yet to come which will be maintaining and not falling into bad habits.
4. What have been your biggest reward or aha moments?
There have been so many. Running with my grandson as he rides his little bike, sitting on the floor and playing with them and not having problems getting off the floor, SHOPPING has been so much fun!!!
Thanks again for this post. It is just great.

Cool thread!
1. I live in notheastern Ohio in a small suburb outside of Cleveland. I love the seasons. I love being outside of the city, about a 30 minute ride to downtown. We have such a rich culture here. The museums, Rock Hall, zoo, aquarium and science center. Not to mention playhouse square and all the great restuarants too.
2. I am married 17 years, we have been together over 18. I have a stepson who is married and has 2 girls. My boys are 14 and 16. I have been a nurse for 22 years, a critical care nurse for 17. I think I am going back to school this year to work on my cnp. I have a goofy yellow lab Buddy Love, he is my exercise partner, also adopted a cat and have a goldfish that is about 10 years old now.
3. My biggest challenge since surgery is dealing with the fact that I am an emotional eater. I had no idea how much I relied on food to deal with my emotions. I still find myself backtracking from time to time. Thank goodness for my rny.
4. I am so thankful that I am no longer diabetic, htn, have fatty liver or metabolic syndrome. I love that I can wear my engagement ring again. I can tie my shoes or paint my toenails without getting charlie horses around my ribs. I love yoga!
It's been great to get to know everyone a little better!
