NSV Worked Out for an Hour

This is the longest I've ever worked out, probably ever.  In fact, they had to toss me out because students can only use the gym from 2 to 3 on Tuesdays and I lost track of the time.  Otherwise I might have gone even longer.
I'm pretty impressed with myself, especially considering I'm less then a month out from major surgery and 2 years ago I could barely crawl up my stairs.  I'm looking forward to the warmer weather so I can ride my bike more.  I am increasing the hills on the exercise bike so I can get used to riding hills outside.  I am also using the treadmill, the elliptical and the rowing machine.  Soon I am going to start on the weights.
I have never liked to exercise but I do like how I feel after wards so sometimes I have to force myself and sometimes I fail to force myself.  I found that listening to music really helps it go faster.
I'm not doing this to lose weight or even to tone up.  I have too much loose skin for it to make a difference to my appearance.  I am strictly motivated in order to improve my physical and mental health.  For me it's a part of my treatment.

Tazz, good for you.  I am really impressed and glad you feel it is helping.  All the research shows that exercise is just as effective as drugs for mild depression.  And like it or not, it will help your skin have some shape underneath, or at least that is what I hear.  I'm still waiting to get to that part.
At PT today, I was able to really ride the bike, going all the way around with the petals, for the first time.  It did feel good and feel like I was making progress.

That's good to hear.  You have had such a rough recovery.  I hope it goes smoother now.

Congratulations!  exercise really is a mood booster too.  It's great you found something you really enjoy doing... I think that's the part most of us get to - exercising just to exercise and not enjoying it.

I joined a Bootcamp that starts in April and looking forward to it.  I need to get moving again and I think this is just the way to do it!!

WOW, that is so great!!  That eliptical was so hard for me to do.  When I finally got up to 15-20 minutes I was so proud of myself.  I couldn't even do it a minute when I started.  I don't do the gym much anymore.  I have found that I really enjoy the outdoor activities.

I would love for DH and me to get bikes and ride, but I don't think he is for that yet.

Exercise makes me feel so much better too.
