Hi, I do not consider myself a lightweight yet, but I want to be.  Does that count?  I have been stalking this forum for the past couple of weeks. Everyone seems so nice and the recipes I’ve seen have made my mouth water.  I am still in the post op liquid diet stage.

Yep you are welcome here!  I am a mostly new post op. (RNY 1/6/2012)  I am doing great largely from the great advice and support I get here.  When was your surgery?  What kind?  We have veterans of every surgery so post away.  I hope you have a textbook recovery!

None of us thought we were lightweights either but many of us kept being told we didn't weigh enought for WLS.  We knew differently.

So yes, jump right in.  Welcome.  Liquids won't last forever.  I sure do remember being very ready for each new phase and I bet you will be too.

Welcome!  You have a great surgeon - what surgery are you getting?

I'm a recent transplant to VA from Traverse City.

You're right though - this is the best forum!  Lots of nice people and good advice!

Welcome to the LW Board.  What type surgery did you have and when did you have it?  Feel free to jump right in.

Be sure to check out Roz's Menus and Miles each day.  It helps me so much to post on this each day.

Good luck on your journey.

Welcome aboard to the friendliest board on OH!!!

I hated the post-op liquid phase but it does not last forever. It will soon be behind you.

Thanks for all the warm welcomes!  I had the DS surgery on March 2nd and I seem to be recovering quite well.  I must say I am at the point of not wanting to see another protein drink for some time.  I so want to eat something normal!!  I know the protein drinks are my friend, but I need a little time away from them.

You have heard of sugar plums dancing in people’s dreams.  Mine consist of eggs, cheese, tuna, refried beans and anything else that doesn’t taste like protein drinks.  LOL

J H – How do you like VA?  I have passed through on my way to NC, but haven’t spent any time there.

Gina – Thanks to your tag line I found my way here.

Have you tried Unjury's chicken soup protein?  It's a nice change from the sweet protein drinks.  There is also unflavored protein powder you can mix with stuff like yogurt and Refried beans and crystal light.  I mix it with 1/2 c 2% milk and 1/2 c of coffee to make a protein coffee.  I have 2 of those every morning.  I was allowed that at 8 wks by my surgeon.
