Well... I'm in Virginia now.  I've signed a lease for a house and will be moving in this Saturday.  I pulled a 7X14 foot trailer down with the majority of my worldly goods I could set up a household on.  I'll pay a moving company to bring the rest down in a few weeks.

It was tough moving out of the state and leaving my daughter and Granddaughter behind, but hopefully it will be only for a few years.

I'm looking forward to moving into my new place and making it my own even though its a rental, but its ALL MINE!

I'm looking forward to seeing Gina more and meeting others from the area that have also had WLS.

Hopefully I'll be on more in the future, as I shouldn't be traveling quite as much (since I typically travel out here).

It reminds me of when I left my ex husband.  As I was moving my stuff out another woman was moving her stuff in.  It was supposed to be a friend of his daughter's who was homeless but as I predicted she was in his bed in no time.  She turned out to be his third wife.
Of course I can't talk.  After I moved out I got an apartment.  I had nothing as far as furniture so I got some things at a thrift store and online.  The people were kind enough to deliver it but my new place had stairs and the bedrooms were upstairs and I couldn't get the beds up.  I had wound up in a town miles from where I had been living and I didn't know one person, then I thought about my ex boyfriend, the guy I had been dating until I got married.  We had stayed in touch and I thought he lived pretty close to where I lived so I called him up and asked him if he could help me move some stuff upstairs.  He came over and we wound up getting back together again, well the first time anyway.  My friend couldn't believe it.  Here I was single less then a week and I already had a boyfriend.
Another time I had been dating a guy seriously for a while and after we broke up I found out he was going out with a woman that he had been talking to while we were together.  He gave me that "just friends" crap but I could tell he was interested in her and he wasted no time in hooking up after we broke up.  I felt like he probably wanted to break up so he could date her.  That really hurt me.  I was devastated when I found out.  I was so heartbroken over the break up and he had already moved on, just a few weeks later.
Anyway, I know what you mean about liking to sleep alone.  I wish I slept alone.  I have 4 dogs to keep me company and on Friday's my grand daughter is there and it really gets crowded.  I long for a bed all to myself.  I do like being single, though.  Even though I have a boyfriend he really is low maintenance and I feel like I am single.  He is like me and not in a place for more of a relationship right now.
My ex husband is like Tom.  He hates to be alone.  We got married right after his first divorce and then, like I said, he was already moving in wife three when I left.  He married wife four right after that divorce and she passed away and he already had a girlfriend a few months later.  I think he waited that time because he really was grieving.  That relationship broke up and he wa****ting on me.  The funny thing is he was texting me and messaging me and wanting to get together for lunch and I finally spoke with him on the phone and I told him that I wanted to make sure he knew that I wasn't interested in dating him again.  Of course he was like :"Oh yeah, I agree, me too, furthest thing from my mind".  Yet I haven't heard from him since, lol.

I'm glad things are getting straightened out, Jody. Let me know if you need any help getting the house settled or if you want to go out to eat or shopping. :)

I have lived in 9 different states and I also have had to start over from a failed marriage.  Although you are feeling the strain of being away from family remember to take a moment to be proud of yourself for being brave enough to take control of your own life!   Appreciate the journey you are on and how strong you are!  Best of luck!
