I hope all you LWs across the Midwest and Eastern US made it through the storms without a scratch or any kind of loss. Looks like we might be in for another rough Spring this year. Get your survival kits and pick-up-and-go bags stocked with vitamins, protein and fresh water. Put a couple of bags together and put one in your car and one in your shelter place. Anyone else have some good tips on being ready for the unexpected?

Dh and I are fine...other than some heavy rain, lots of wind, and losing power for a few mins 3-4 times last night, we were fine. We did park ourselves in our safe spot for an hour last night, accompanied by all the dogs and several of the cats.

I've been coNcerned for everyone. Our severe weather season isjustvaround the corner. I need to update my go bag.

In the house I have a basic with candles, matches, flashlight, radio and batteries, and a whistle. Don't forget to wear shies if you need to take shelter.

We were on the edge. Most times the storm**** the mountains and break up so we may get wind and rain but very seldom do we get the tornatos. We had plenty of rain and wind but are fine. I do keep one bag packed with protein stuff but probably should do more. We have a wired in generator for power outtages because we are on well water and no electricity, no water. With the animals, water is vital.

No storms in TX. My Dad is in Murphy, NC (Cherokee County). His house is fine, but without power or phone this morning. My sister called on her cell to let me know things were ok. There was lots of damage in Murphy. I feel lucky he came through it so well.
