Zumba is it too much too soon?
Hey guys,
I started zumba this week. I really enjoy it...it is somuch fun, but my PCP said that it is too much to soon and my Surgeon's office feels like I should have started that from 7 weeks ago when I got sleeve...(exagerating..).
What are your thoughts...?
I weight myself and I gain weight...It must be water weight from the swalling of the muscle so I am not freaking out....it better go down soon LOL
Cheers,

If it feels right - do it! Just don't overdo it and take it easy.

Ditto on the advice you were give already.
Why are you weighing after exercise. Are you driving yourself nuts? Weigh only in the morning. Pik a day of the week and use that number. If you want to track something all day, let it be your food. This is a long journey and nitpicking will not be your friend.
Have you dumped the cookies and other snacks? Look to that as the reason for gains, not the exercise. Build your good habits today.
Follow the rules your surgeon gave you, then trust in the process. You chose your surgeon for a reason. Trust your team!

Hey Lee,
You are so right...I weigth myself everyday....I need to stop that...I will do it once a week from now on..
I laugth when I read your post...because of the cookies part...aHHAHAH...and you know I was guilty...
Yes, I had some dark chocolate almond. I guess it is better than cookies but not as good since it still has about 6g of sugar per 1 oz. I only ate about 4...so I think I okay.
Thanks for keeping me in check....
You are my best OH friend.

I think your PCP is wrong... I starting running at one month out. Now I also tried Jazzercise at that time and it hurt my incissions too much so I waited a bit longer to do anything that stressed my core ... but by 7 weeks most surgeons have removed most (if not all) exercise restrictions.
