What's Cooking???
The only caution would be to remember what stage you are at if you are early out from surgery!!
This weekend my plan is to do my cooking for next week. I like to do this so I don't have to worry about my food during the week.
I found some great new foods this last week. Starting with Yasmeen's recipe for the Deep Dish Pizza made from minced chicken and cheese. Here is the link to that post:

I made it and it was wonderful.
The second thing I found this week was the Pizza Chips. This was posted on the RNY board.
Here is the link to the original recipe and how I made mine:
The Pizza Chips were pretty good. I had to use Pizza sauce to dip them in because they were a little dry. Might have cooked them too long. Here is the link to the recipe:

I used 1 3/4 cups Low Fat Mozerella Cheese, 4 cheese Mexican cheese(1 cup), 1/4 cup parmasean cheese, 17 Turkey Pepperoni's chopped up in small pieces, 1 pack of both the beef & Italian Sausage crumbles, 1 tsp of the garlic powder, oregeno & italian seasoning. I baked it 15 minutes on 375. It made about 15 of the chips. Stats for the way I made it for 2 chips were about:
230 calories, 14 fat, 1000 sodium, 4 carbs, 22 protein (not counting pizza sauce I dipped them in)
While at work this week, someone was eating raw turnip roots and we were talking about how to cook them. I had an idea I'm going to try this weekend. I absolutely loved baked potatoes, so I'm going to bake a turnip root and put some "I Can't Beleive It's Not Butter" on it and try it for a baked potato - it might be too bitter - I'll let you know. I'm also going to try the Stuffed Peppers from Roz they sounded so good when I read them on her menu.
Ok, whose next - what great food find did you make this week. Or you can share an old time favorite of yours.
Is this something that everyone would be intersted in on a weekly basis??
Linda
I'm a terrible cook but these sound simple.

I grew up with ours made out of oatmeal. Since oatmeal is one of the carbs that I allow myself it works out perfect for me and there is no quilt. Just lots of protein and fiber.

Since it is just DH and me we end up eating meat and a salad many nights. I cook more on the weekend when DS is home. This weekend is DS birthday and I am going to try a cake I saw on Dr Oz. You use a chocolate cake mix, I'm using SF, 1 c of plain greek yogurt and 1c of water. That is it. I'm going to top it with vanilla SF pudding mixed with FF cream cheese (the store didn't have SF cheesecake pudding) and a can of SF cherry pie filling. I'll let you know how it turns out.
I'm munching now on edemama, steamed in the shell, then sprinkled with sea salt and garlic powder. Yummmmm.

Price, I can't wait to see how the cake turns out. That sounds like it would be wonderful and so much healthier!!
I have wanted to do the edemama. I tried buying the frozen in the shell and fixing it and tried buying it in the can and drying it out. I just couldn't get it to taste good. Did you use the frozen ones?
DH and I both loved the Pizza Chips and I'm going to make some more of them this weekend.
