Hello to all of our Lightweights!!!  If you are visiting WELCOME....PLEASE JOIN US and POST!!!!!    Besides my tool,  I count  Posting on the LW board as my #1 reason for being successful on this exciting journey!!!!

WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!!   AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!!  THEY ARE ADDICTING!!  THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE!!  THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER!!

I'm in SHOCK!!  I never dreamed that cutting out sugar and carby snacks would make such a difference!  The scales haven't really moved but my tummy is getting flatter every day!  The Temptation for carbs has also eased up.

I've been on Maintenance 2 1/2 years and doing great!!!

I was thinking about that when I read your yesterdays menu.  I was wondering about the taco.  I never ate taco shells, bread, potatoes, rice, pasta et****il I got into a normal BMI range. If you include them during the losing stage you will get a false idea that you can still lose and eat carbs but it will take you longer to get to goal and you will continue with bad habits.

Today's menu lookis carb free so far.

Ugh I had half a piece of toast with my eggs!  I am going to try harder!  It is so hard!  I can't believe how tough it is, especially since DH is a carb addict.

You didn't list the toast...LOL  My DH is a carb addict too.  I bake him a loaf of bread every single day and he eats almost the whole thing himself. It doesn't tempt me to much because of the calories. I do have a problem with all of the sweets and other carbs (chips/pretzels) he has around the house.  As long as they are in the cupboard or pantry and I'm not constantly reminded that they are there I do pretty good.

I know it's hard at the beginning but it is best to avoid them now. When you begin Maintenance you will have the pleasure of adding a few back in but if you never give them up then you will be adding some in to the total you are already consuming.

The only "bad" carb I allowed myself during the losing stage were saltines.  I think a serving was six.  I put laughing cow cheese or peanut butter on them.  I ate them slow and really enjoyed them.

I think I need to give them up until I get to Dubai in April at least.  There I will try a few things, but I won't eat them again until I reach goal!  I had some toast and mashed potatoes when I was in the hospital.  Wow, what a slippery slope.  Like crack!  BtW I have been in a stall since I got out of the hospital 2 weeks ago.  I've limited my carbs to a bite here a bite there and 1 piece of toast per week.  Think that little bit is contributing?  Or is my body just healing.  I was seriously sick with dehydration/starvation.  I don't recall ever being that sick before.

I think a bite here and there are worse than just sitting and enjoying a piece of something. All of those bites add up.

Everyone stalls.  After we lose for awhile our bodies seem to go into rest mode. I sounds strange but usually during stalls we lose a lot of inches.  Do you keep track of your measurments?

When I was in a stall I would up my Protein drinks for a few days and then drop back down and that always got me going but I'm not sure what would work for you.  I guess I would probably increase my food proteins the same way.

Up until the last few days, I was sleeping like 16 hours a day!  Now that I'm up moving around, I think that will get the scale moving.  I'm going to the gym with DH tomorrow.  Plus I start back to work next week.

one session on the CPM done, 2 to go. I don't remember ever spending 15+ hours in bed in my life.  I guess maybe right after some surgery or something but it has been for over 2 weeks now and my butt feels numb.   PT today is at 5 instead of my usual late morning so my routine has to be altered.  Not that I have much routine other than 6 hrs in the machine, eat, drink.

decaf protein coffee  35g
cheese grits
chicken
lemon tea  23g
??
??  Maybe we will go out since PT is so late.
protein shake  35g
