Good Morning. Food = Love?

Let's be honest, how many of us equate food with love? My DH is sending me flowers today, I put a Valentines card and candy out this morning with his vitamins and protein coffee. I'm also slow cooking a brisket all day so it will be ready this evening. Notice a theme here? Now, what kind of wine to have with dinner....

I totally agree. In our family celebrations are always with food.

My DH has a late class today, so no special dinner. Maybe later.

Yep.  We never go out for dinner due to the crowds on the holiday, usually after.  but with surgery/procedure tomorrow, we are going out to lunch.  We definately celebrate with food, comfort with food, console with food.

Hi Gina...

My DH hates crowds so he went out quietly yesterday and bought me some roses...I really dont need candy...I feel so guilty if I indulge in chocolate pleasures these days!!  We are heading out to eat somewhere early tonight....mmmm steak is what Im craving...aw well better than chocolate or those little red candy hearts!!  Have a wonderful day everyone...Yes...wine with dinner...what kind?

Guilty!  I always cook what the kids want around the holidays and on their birthdays. I spoil them with food.  I recognize the behavior and I'm working on other ways to say I love you.  Old habits die hard!

DH and I are also cooking at home this evening.  With our lifestyle, we don't cook much.  It is just the two of us.  We re-heat a lot, but we don't just cook.  We are having pork tenderloin and a nice salad.  I think we are going to watch some of our favorite DVR TV too.  He woke up feeling crummy.  I may be playing nursemaid tonight and cooking on my own.  I don't mind.  He's worth it.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Food is definitely the center of our family gatherings.  I'm making DH steak and homemade mac and cheese for dinner tonight and for dessert two huge cream puffs with extra pudding (special ordered).

DD works every evening so she always misses dinner with the family so next week when she is off after having the baby( in 3 MORE DAYS) I have planned all of her favorite meals.

God is walking with me every step of the way. Because of HIM this is possible!!

Remember Oliver Twist?  "Food, glorious food"

It's human nature since the beginning of time I guess.  Still I hope DH doesn't bring home chocolate tonight!

Happy Valentine's everyone

Just about all of our family times are centered around food - when and what are we going to eat!!   I can truly say that since WLS it does not make much difference to me anymore.  Ocassionally I get a craving to eat out somewhere, but now I would usually rather eat at home and cook something.

DH and I don't usually do anything special today, just usually cards.  I have my Kindle class tonight so it will be a late night getting home.

In my family a lot revolves around it.  We celebrate all birthdays and special occasions by going out to eat.  It is our way of getting together.  I used to go out with my oldest daughter at least a few times a month but now that she has a family it is much harder.  I love my grand babies but they can be monsters in restaurants.  May be because they don't eat out much but they are the kids that are climbing over the seats and under the tables and having a tantrum because they didn't get cake for dinner.
