Had my surgery on Friday, came home yesterday. Very sore. Very cold! lol
I am having a hard time getting liquids down, any more than 2 ounces and I want to burst.
the last thing that is bothering me is the incision on the top left, there are four staples, two on top two on the bottom, but a large gap in the middle, it just seems like there should be another staple there.
Thanks for all your support! It means so much!

Glad to hear you are home! Chris is right...just keep sipping. It will get easier. If you are cold now just wait until you are at goal.....I freeze all of the time now!
I'm not sure about the incisisons but I'm sure your Dr. probably knows what he/she is doing and you probably have a check up soon.

Welcome to the loser's bench Laurie.
LOL - I know about being cold - I stayed wrapped up in a blanket. Everyone thought it was so funny because I was always hot. DH has loved that part of it. I used to freeze him.
If I were concerned about the staples just give your surgeon a call. That us what they are for!!
Rest and sip don't over do it.

it helped me to drink warm stuff, herb teas, protein hot chocolate when approved, decaf coffee with protein. That sat better than anything cold and helped warm me up.
I was really cold early and am now but I also went through a time when my therostat was just broken. I would be hot when everyone was cold and cold when it was hot, sometimes all in the same hour. Not the change because that happened years ago but hormones, I guess. Anyway, just dress however you need to and it will get better.
Welcome aboard.

It sounds like pretty normal recovery to me....I also could only drink small amounts in the beginning but by a month I was able to drink pretty normally (which surprised me!). Remember your pouch is VERY swollen so this is also why you have to drink very slow and little bits at a time. Sugar free popsickles also went down well and during my 2nd week I was craving taste and made some ramen broth (no noodles). This first weeks are the hardest.....it gets better fast though!
If you have a 1 week f/up with your dr, ask about the incision...if it gets red or you get a fever I would call the office.
Good luck!!

p.s. I was very sore (I also had a drain the 1st week which I HATED) and fatigued the first two weeks and slept a LOT. Hang in there!!!!
