I only have 10 days until my RNY. My pre-op plan only has be do a 24 hour clear liquid diet and nothing after midnight.

I know that I can make it through my 24 hours, but how can I make it eaier. I know keeping myself busy, but anything else?

Thanks - Laurie =]

I think you might be surprised at how the anticipation of turning over a new leaf will motivate you to do just about anything. Keeping busy is a great idea. Keep reading here and hanging out on the boards--that was enough to keep me distracted. Good luck!

If you can, walking would be great to try and get your body in a little better shape for the surgery.  It really helped me and I think it helped my recovery be quicker and easier.

Stay connected to a support system.  Support really helps you to be successful and to stay successful.  This could be a support group in person or on here.

Try to start keeping a journal of what you eat every day.  That really helps you stay on track and is a great habit to get into.

10 days - how exciting.  Good luck Laurie.

Thanks so much for your support.

I am doing 10 miles a day on the bike and every three days doing strength training. I have lost 17 pounds on my own. I hope to be up and walking very soon after surgery. I know it is required with my surgeon but I mean to do it as much as possible without causing problems.

I did start a journal a while ago, although I have neglected it due to Christmas craziness, but plan on starting again after surgery.

Again thanks again for your support Linda!

I was on full liquids the day before surgery so I did protein shakes and any other liquid I felt like. But the protein kept me from getting that CRAZY hungry feeling.

Since your on on CLEAR LIQUIDS I suggest Isopure RTD [ready to drink]. They come in fruit flavors like fruit punch, grape crush and uummm I cant think of the others but there are many.

I bought mine at GNC off the shelf [warm unfortunatly] but I suggest you have it over ice or give it time to get nice and cold in the fridge.

They are $5.00/each and have 40, YES 40 grams of protein per bottle!

I have a blue bottle in my fridge right now, don't remember the flavor. I will have to ask if it is ok to have. I am sure it will be. Thanks for your post.
