Hello, Thank you and I'm sleeved!

Hi Everyone,

You don’t know me but like a lot of newbies, I’ve been lurking on OH for a few weeks now.  I was sleeved Thursday by Dr. Jossart in San Francisco, and came home yesterday.  I can’t thank all of you enough for everything I learned here on the lightweight board (pre-op, post-op, handling wild emotions, etc) that really did get me gracefully through the surgery.  Because of you, I knew what to expect – and that was more than half the battle.

It’s about 9:30am in SF where I am, and so far, I’ve had 11oz of fluids, some GasX and no narcotics. I’ve opted out of the head trip of weighing myself for now.   I’ve already walked twice.

As soon as I figure out how to get a ticker going, I’ll put one up.  In the meantime, here are my stats:

I’m five feet tall.

Highest weight: 185

First appointment w/ Jossart: 170

Surgery Weigh: 164

Thanks again to everyone.

Fiona

Welcome, Fiona.  Sounds like you are doing great.  Walk, sip, rest, repeat.  And use your pain meds as needed.  There isn't a prize for doing without them.

Hi Linda, Price and Lynn,

Thanks for the warm welcome!  I did end up taking some pain meds today, so thank you Linda for reminding me that that's what they're there for.

Is it odd to be experiencing hunger right now?  Or maybe this is just head hunger?  All I know is that at certain points, my stomach growls and it feels like hunger.  Could I be misinterpreting it for something else?

Many thanks all.

Fiona

Congrats on your sleeve!

I felt what I thought was hunger early on.   I don't get hungry now, if I don't eat carbs.

Good luck in your journey.
