IPAD 2 Case/Cover

My DD#3 asked for a GOOD cover and carrying case for her IPad for Christmas.  I've been checking on the net and it is all very confusing.  She has the Apple Smart case but it really isn't much protection...in fact my DGS dropped hers this week and the screen shattered.  She has an appointment with the Tech team on Friday.

I've been looking at the GUMDROP Covers.  Any Opinions and Reviews would be helpful and appreciated.

I don't know anything about them, but saw some iPad covers at Walmart.

I have an off brand tablet, of course its an odd size and I've asked for a case for it for Christmas.

Good luck!

Otter Box is a great brand, but you do pay for it: http://www.otterbox.com/

Speck is another good brand, not quite as protective, but also not as pricey: https://www.speckproducts.com/tablet-ipad-cases.html

There's tons more options out there, but I've bought from both of these companies and they're good to deal with.

Otter Box is the best case for anything.  Im ordering one for my Ipad and my cell phone for Christmas, because I have a dropper of a daughter.   I think with Otterbox to its like a warranty if something happends while its in the case.

Thanks everyone!  I ordered the Pink Gumdrop this evening.  It seems pretty sturdy and the reviews were all pretty good.

I'm hoping they can repair hers without it costing her a fortune.

Roz, my dh works at a place that replaces the screens on shattered iPads cheaper than Apple. PM me if your dd is interested.

I know I'm a little late to the conversation here, but I have one of the so called "smart covers" from apple and in my opinion it's definitely not worth it. Yes, it's cool that it turns the device on and off, but that's about it. It falls off very easily and as you mentioned originally doesn't really protect it from anything.

Good choice steering clear of that one.
