HELLLOOOO!!!! (long update)

I know that I have been MIA around here for a while. I've been in and out of the hospital and have had two more surgeries since October. One for lesions and a couple of weeks later my gallbladder went crazy and decided to do it's impression of a sack of marbles! lol That's the bad news. The good, no, the GREAT news, is that I am feeling soooo much better. At least most of the time I am anyway. I am still in a LOT of pain, but the pain meds are keeping it under control. I am finally getting all 64 oz of fluid by mouth!! YAY!! I am getting over 60 gr of protein a day!!! YAY!!! but it's mostly from the protein hot cocoas I drink. More has to come from food before the Drs will take out the tube. (BOO HISS) As soon as my eating catches up, I can have the feeding tube removed!!! I have had so much trouble eating since the RNY, but since the gallbladder was removed, I am eating amazingly well most days now! I still can't eat more than 1/4 cup at a time yet. I am, however, eating every 2 to 3 hours now and I'm not feeling nausea every time I eat!!! Woo Hoo!!!

I'm still kind of worn out. I'm told that's to be expected. My body needs to heal. I'm a bit anemic now. Everyone just wants to keep an eye on it for now. So, still no "sustained" exercise. Still no lifting more than 5 pounds. For the first time in my life, I'm listening!!! I'm going a little stir crazy, but I'm not pushing a thing!! Now everybody has to take care of me for a change! I still have a long way to go but I'm slowly getting there!

And last but not least, some of you may be wondering about the husband issue. He is and has been in counseling twice a week since he was removed from the home. He was invaluable during my hospital stays. Both times I was too sick to drive myself to the hospital. It's an hour away and my Mom couldn't take anymore time off. When she called John, He was at my door in about 30 min. He stayed with me. He took care of me. He was still working at night, but that was the only time he left me. I was in the hospital for 10 days with the lesions and 3 with the gallbladder. We are hoping that the counselor will give us the go ahead to move him back in by Christmas. Please, no bashing. I hope you will all wish us well and continue to swing those critters for us both. Thank you to all of you that have kept me in your thoughts and prayers. I believe that those kind and caring thoughts helped me get through the last 4 months. Thank you!! YOU ROCK!!!!!!

I'm so glad you are starting to feel better and getting your fluids and Protein in.  Prayers for you and your DH.  I hope the Counceling helps and you can work everything out and Live Happily Ever After.  It will be nice if you can share the exciting things that WLS is going to bring into your life.

it has been a long time since we have heard from you/  I just did a search of all the posts for the past 3 months trying to find you.  I hope all is well and hope the surgeries helped you.

I am glad your husband went into counseling but I do hope that is enough. It really scares me after all you have been through and hope all is okay.  When I dont' hear from you in along time, I worry.

Please either post or PM me to let me know you are okay and what is going on with you.

thanks
randi
