yeah its good ol TEA....  and yes switching from coffee to tea statistically takes off   an average 10-15 lbs in  the first year ....

because tea speeds  up  your metabolism slightly  whereas cofee  actually depresses it ( slightly again but over time it really makes a difference )

I tried it  at my Mom's suggestion and it really worked ...  ( lots more energy too )

Anyway here's the drink :

one scoop  protein  slurry  ( blended with as little water as possible and still pour able ) inbottom of mug

almost boiling  black or chai tea ( I use cardamom seeds  in mine .... )  ( earl gray works great too)

sugarfree  Chai in a boxfrom Oregon Tea

- pour the slury into bottom of mug-  put  a few glugs ofthe sugerfree chai concentrate ...  fillup mug with  hot tea ....

OH MY

I drink lots of herb tea or decaf tea each day.  Does the caffeine have something to do with the weight loss?  I don't ever but anything but sweetner in my tea, haven't tried it with protein.

I think its the idea that in tea the natural caffeine works with about 21 other related compounds synergistically ....incidentally those synergistic metabolism boosting compounds ARE present i n decaffeinated tea and low caffeine teas like green tea as well.

in coffee the caffeine is isolated so U get much more of an up- down effect and people also tend to put a lot more caloric creamers and sugars in it to counteract the bitterness and acidity .... especially habitual coffee drinkers .

Most tea drinking cultures like in the orient and asia ...have very limited overweight issues . I'm not sure about Russia ..but I suspect despite the extreme cold that people ARE quite a bit thinner than here.
