I need to whine too.....
It's been a tough week for me on the health front.
First, last Friday, I had my dental check up, and I have a big cavity UNDER a crown, so the crown has to come off, then more off the tooth, then a new crown, all before Christmas.
Then my GYN called - I need to get a follow-up mamogram in 6 months (I had never heard of that).
Then I got another call from my GYN - she wants me to start osteoporosis medications - but a side effect is reflux and and potential for ulcers. So we decided to wait for a year or so, until I can get my pouch less grouchy, as I'm still unable to tolerate a lot of foods, and I'm 4 months out. Oh boy - I just had a surgery that hurts absorption of calcium.
Today my surgeon's office called.. my doc wants to see me on Friday.
This week, I'm traveling on business, so it's difficult to eat right, which means my pouch is grouchier than ever, as I can't eat on schedule, I can't eat what's served, then I eat too much of the wrong thing, and feel nauseas (like I'm feeling now)....
So I want to have a pity party.

Oh, man! When it rains it pours. About the osteoporosis, considering you have a pouch instead of a full size stomach, you might want to suggest to your GYN that she prescribe something injectable like Forteo. I've heard some really good things about it and how it improves your bone density better than the old oral drugs. You probably wouldn'd have to be on it as long and you would get more benefit from it.

Sounds like you are having a tough week! Big hugs going out to you!
I used to have a mammogram and an ultrasound every 6 months on the right breast. I have dense breast tissue and there appeared to be something there I guess. But since I have lost the weight, this year is the first time in about 3 years I dont have to. Always better to be safe.
What ppi are you taking? Have you tried switching?
Do you take vitamin k2? It is supposed to help with calcium absorption.I think Gina's idea about asking for the forteo is a great one!
Good luck with the traveling, make sure you have something in your purse to snack on thats good for you. I cant imagine traveling so soon out.
