NSV.........Ran my First 5K!!!

This morning I ran my first 5K. I had hoped to run the entire thing but it was quite hilly so I had to walk a few times to make it to the top of the hills.  However, I ran faster than I ever have in the gym and finished just under 38 minutes.  For a slow poke like me this was wonderful.

Next is a big challenge. My older brother is a marathoner and I am joining his Ragnar Relay Team and will be running, 3 miles, 4 miles, and 2 miles in the 199 mile Ragnar Relay from Miami to Key West in January.  I would NEVER have done these things before surgery.....due to not being able to physically do them and due to being embarrassed.  So very grateful.

~~Jennifer

p.s.  met with my surgeon earlier this week and he says I am doing great.  I continue to aim for a BMI of normal.  We will see if I get there.   This turtle is doing things no matter how slow the weight comes off.

Blessings to everyone!
