I just found out my dog Tazzie  has cancer.  She is 11 years old and I have had her since she was 6 weeks old.  She is my best friend.
The vet says it was found early and he thinks he can get it all out and she would be fine but of course he can't guarantee it.  It is going to cost over $500 but it will be worth it if she is cured.  I am afraid that they won't be able to get it all or that it has spread.  I know it seems crazy to spend $500 on a 11 year old dog but if she can live out a normal lifespan without any problems I would be so happy.
ETA We just found another tumor so that means it has spread.  The vet said that if it has spread then there was nothing that could be done.  I am heartbroken.  I sent an email to the vet but I don't know if they can take out the second tumor or if it wouldn't do any good.

Tazz, it's hard to face losing a furbaby but it happens...our lifespan is so much longer than theirs that it is inevitable. I wrote this about a furbaby I lost in 2003: Snowy trusted me to do what was best for her all her life and I had to fulfill that trust. And in return, she gave me unconditional love and companionship even if she didn't always show it. Almost 10 years later, I still miss her badly. So I understand your feelings.

Hugs and prayers are headed your way.

I have had a hard summer with my puppy due to health issues.  I so feel for you.....it is a difficult grief I know.  I try to remember all the love I have for her and that I will still have her love even if she isn't here with me.  I pray the vet can give you some news that will help her (and you).

Prayers and kind thoughts being sent you way.
