Christmas present!!  My parents are the hardest person on my list of people to buy for!  No idea what to get them!  They are 63 & 68 and have (seems like) everything!  Last year my sister and I went in together and got them a Keurig machine...it was a HUGE hit!!!!  They give a list, but there usually isn't much on it.  We're looking to spend between $100-150 (between the 2 of us).  What do y'all buy for the people that are imposssibe to buy for???  Maybe you'll give me some ideas or get my wheels turning!!

We gave my husband a Keurig last year so this year we are giving him K-cups in many wonderous flavors! The nice thing about that gift is that it gets used up so then we can give him more later.

One Father's Day, I gave my daddy a huge binder of our genealogy!! I included trees, both up and down and original photos/letters/ birth certificates, etc, after scanning them for me. He LOVED it cause no one else had anything like it and it was about his family.

If they are hard to buy for, give something invaluable...your time.

my dad is very hard to buy for and worse than that,he is very tight fisted. he has always hated"lookin for something to buy" anh he considers christmas and birthday gifts in that category.

every Christmas I remember is tinged with the memory of the *huge* fight my parents always had before he reluctanty  and resentfully forked over money for my mom to buy gifts.

My mom is gone now and he lives in assisted living. I havent bought him anything in years cause he says he doesnt want anything and I just have to take that at face value.

he doesn't want pictures of his children or grand children or great grand children. anything that my other sisters buys him has to go back.

one sister asked him what she could get him and he told her just to give him $10.00 and hhhe would get his hair cut. Now,mind you,he gets it cut anyway but hates to fork over the 10.00 of his own for it. so,she is going to give him 20.00 for two haircuts aaand I am going to give him 20.00 for two haircuts. Then he will get 4 haircuts without having to pay for them.

so what is on your parents list?

I'm 61 so I'm in their league.  My favorite gift to receive is the gift of time.  If you live close, taking them for a lovely dinner would be great.  If you live far away, how about Skype coupons for timely chats. I Skype often with my busy son and consider it a great gift.  Do you have kids?  What about a calendar with their pics or maybe favorite family pics from when you all were kids?  Vacation pics?

If they live far away, how about inviting them to come visit?

My son and I di gifts during the year and avoid holiday anxiety.  :)

My parents are gone and so are DHs so I don't have to worry about presents for them.  Our sisters and brothers are both very independent and buy whatever they want.  So I make donations to "Heifer" for everyone every year.  I feel good about it and they say they do to.  I also don't give much presents to anyone and don't encourage them to give presents to me.  Our company takes the money they would have spent on present to me or my presents to them and makes donation in the community.  One year we sponsered a family in the company name and bought all the toys for the kids and Christmas dinner.  Other years we have donated to Meals on Wheels, the local humane society or a food bank.

My folks also don't need anything... I usually get them gift cards to their favorite restaurants, they appreciate that.
