Hi Everyone!

Like the title said, I've been very good or very bad since Thanksgiving. We had family here from TN, and you would think I have never had surgery or a weight problem. There were times I just ate anything!!! Of course, my portions were much smaller than they were before surgery, but I have been totally off my program!!!

Back on track now. I had forgotten how "heavy" carbs make one feel. Ugh! Although everything tasted great, I don't think I enjoyed it as much as I used to, if that makes sense.

On a happy note - I went to a consignment shop yesterday, and was a SIZE 12!!! I bought 4 pairs of dress slacks and 4 sweaters to wear at my new job on Monday!

Hey, i am right there with you!  Hadn't done even so much as  protein shake for the last 3 days, eating all the bad stuff...and wow, I really felt like crap!  Back on the wagon tomorrow for sure!  And I totally get how it wasn't even as good as it used to be, but for some reason, I need to find that out for myself.  I was craving something healthy SO badly last night, that at 10:40, in my pajamas no less, I went to Wendy's and got a salad!  It was the best salad ever!  lol.... Now I know that I dont need to have all the usual stuff to make it a holiday. I need to take care of what I need to eat to really enjoy myself.  Its no fun spending time on the couch upstairs, in pain, while everyone else is having fun without me.  So for Christmas, I will definately have a much better plan in place to take care of me.  I hope you do too!                                                              Joan

Congratulations!!  It feels awesome to be "Normal" doesn't it!  I don't enjoy food anymore either, so I know exactly what you mean!!!  Theres a lot of times I don't eat (I know not good) because I just don't "desire" food.  I eat to live now, instead of live to eat!!

Enjoy your sizes 12's while you can......because soon they will be too big too!!  Lol!

I've shown after 60 yrs that I can't live on a diet.  There are going to be times that I eat things I shouldn't.  The amazing thing to me after surgery is how easy it is to get back on track.  I ate desert and bread almost every meal at the hospital because sometimes it was the only thing that was edible, and because I like deserts.  But then not having them here doesn't matter to me.  On my camping trips, I did fine for early meals but each night when we had our communal supper, I over ate and ate things I wouldn't have eaten at home.  My first weight would be a pound or so higher than when I left but by the next Sunday, I would be back to my normal.

Congrats on the new job.  But don't get too attached to those size 12s.  They won't last long.  I skipped several sizes in the 8-10-12-14 range.  And I mostly wear 6s but still have some 8 and 10s that fit along with the occasional 4.

Thanks for the encouragement!

It is hard for me to imagine being smaller sizes! It has been so long.

Getting back on track kinda today. Didnt really eat desserts, except for one bite, but made corn chowder. At least i didnt over do in portions.
