Did anyone have only 50 lbs to lose?

I had vsg last week.  I am a band revision with about 50lbs to lose.

Just curious if there is anyone out there with my similiar story.  If so how long did it take you to lose?  What was your carb/caloric intake each day?

I just feel like I will never get there.....since I never have.  Looking for some inspiration!

Not me, but wanted to say welcome and hang in there.  It will happen for you as it has for so many of our sleeve buddies.  They have great success and I know you can too if you follow the rules and let it happen.

There are a lot of band revisions on the sleeve board. They have varying amounts to lose from "none" to "all of it" based on where they were in the process before they had the revision.

There are also a few lightweights who only have 50 pounds to lose with a virgin WLS.

Anyway, I happen to know a lot of band people because I thought I was going to get a band and most of them get the sleeve and then lose to goal. Not all. But the ones who follow the program certainly do.

My highest weight was around 205 in Nov 2006, which is when I got my band, then it slipped and my revision to RNY occurred at 190 lbs in August of this year.  Therefore I have anywhere between 50 and 70 lbs to lose.

So far it has worked very well!  I've lost 30 lbs in 3 months and am still losing.  The doctors worry I will lose too much weight, but I will cross that bridge when I get there!  According to the program I use to log my food (dietpower.com), it predicts based on how fast I'm losing now that I will weigh 120 lbs by the time I am 8 months out.  I figure I'll slow down at the six months mark and really crawl toward the 120 lbs and be as frustrated as everyone else as they approach goal.

I am eating around 1000-1100 calories a day, about 100 grams each of protein and carbs.  That seems like an awful lot even to me, but it seems to be working so far.

Good luck to you and be sure to keep us up to date!
