Its true that acid mimics hunger, you may need something different, your pcp could do that for you.
yours may not be strong enough or maybe your need a stronger dose or a different med.. At about 5 weeks out i was hungry although i would get fill id be hungry within 20- 30 mins and that was acid..
how much are you eating at a time? and what foods are you eating? dense protein will fill you alot quicker than stuff like greek yogurts. also i find fatty meats fill me longer like rib steak..
you definatly should not be feeling miserable... do you know what size sleeve he gave you?

I know my hunger is not acid related - as I'm on the maximum amount of PPI that can be prescribed. I believe it is related to blood sugar.
I normally have a protein shake in the am, some lean lunch meat for lunch and a bite or two of whatever for supper.
ok it maybe that your not eating enough, try eating every 3 hours 5 or 6 times a day... if you can only eat 3 or 4 bites its not the size of your sleeve,,,

Do you have a food log? I found when I logged my food (an was honest as to what I ate) I found i was not eating ENOUGH.

Sounds like I would be hungry all the time too. I still eat 4-6 times a day and feel like I am eating all day long ( I did have RNY though)
COuld you possibly add in an additional protein shake or 2 throughout the day to help with the hunger feelings or even start logging everything. You will be hungry if you arent eating.
The first 2 weeks after my surgery i was in so much pain that i felt no hunger. Once i had the drain removed and we realized what the problem was i was hungry. I was starving week 3 and 4 were the worst weeks where i was sure I'd made the biggest mistake of my life. I would eat and an hour later i was hungry. I was white knuckling it to the next meal. I truly regretted my surgery. Week 5 and six the gnawing hunger died down and became more manageable. Not comfortable mind but if i could distract myself i could wait until mealtime. Then around week 9 i realized i had to look at the clock to remember to eat. I don't know what happened but I'm 15 weeks out now and hunger is no longer a problem. I'm wishing this forward for you. You may just be in the trenches now on your way to the island like i was. Good luck.
