We're drowning in leaves but I still love this time of year in Virginia. We still have a lot of leaves up in the big oak in the front yard. DH says he's tempted to climb the sucker and shake them down like he used to shake the pecan tree back home. lol  We still have a few trees around that are vibrant red or yellow. There's a weeping willow at work that is two-toned green and yellow. Awesome! It's a crisp 30 degrees this morning and I'm looking forward to some walks at work today. What are you doing today to get moving and shaking?

working working working ....  yep the trees around my house are beautiful too but I'm cuttingthem down to replace with fruiting dwarf trees .

Gonna borow the neighbor's  changing- leaf landscape from now on .

Did I mention that I consider raking ( or blowing ) a HUGE waste of time and effort ?  And if U don't  do it Ur lawn goes to hell in a  handbasket ..pronto .

Hi Gina!

I'm heading to FL today for a long weekend with Tom. Warm temps will be nice. We lost our leaves over a month ago. Looks and feels like winter now.

When i get home I'm buying a treadmill to slow down the "spread".

Leaves are about gone here.  DH will mow one more time and chop them up then we will let the wind remove most of them.  Mostly open and pasture, not a lot of lawn to worry about getting distroyed.

I have a completition with Poppy this weekend so I have some getting ready, loading up to do for that.  It is in the 20s here and so I have to both wait until it warms some and until my worker kid comes this afternoon after school to help me load up.  Still can't do a lot of lifting.

Cooking, straighening before my sister comes for the weekend from Va to say goodbye to her horse.  Monday is the day for him.  He has had a great life.  We have lost track but he is in his 30s, retired with arthritus at age 10, just hanging out since then.  Wouldn't it be great if we all could spend 2/3 of our life retired.  Arthritus continues to get worse and I just can't make him go through another winter.  So it will be sad and we will miss him but he won't hurt anymore.

So a busy day, busy weekend, busy early next week before surgery then down time afterwards.  The only problem is I really don't like down time.  Hopefully I will be able to get to the computer and stay busy.

Okay, I can relate "DROWNING" in leaves...we have 3 acres of trees and most have lost their leaves now but not all. And with a 2 story roof over most of the house and it being metal, I am not letting dh up to clean gutters...we will bring someone in to do that.

We noticed yesterday, we had another tree down...there was one on the ground when we bought the house, right near the property line in a gulley...this one was almost right beside it.

Most of our trees turned yellow...only the poison ivy turned red!

I have a haircut appt today and then we will be back in the closet/bathroom area to do more demo and rebuilding.  Here is what we have done so far: Renovations

Today, we will be building the new wall that we are putting in and then taking down the existing wall that is currently there and severely water damaged and has mold on it.

Boy am I impressed.  Ya'll have done a lot of work.  I sure think that counts as upping your exercise totals.

I live in a park so it's the city that has to worry about the leaves.  YAY!

Last weekend I spent 4 days up in Napa and the leaves at the vineyards were incredible.  I'll post a picture if I can get it off my phone.

I'm working today and doing an hour of Zumba tonight.  It's my new passion along with my Pilate classes.

Since the winds a few years ago tore out biggest oak tree out of the ground we don't have as many leaves.  DH mows them up and the wind carries them away.  Our grass is brighter and greener than it has been all summer.   My DH takes a lot of pride in keeping our yard nice.

DH moved our treadmill and got it running.  He started using it last night and I'm going to start this weekend.  I'm hoping it makes a difference in my legs but dreading more loose skin.

Got back from Fla late last night and my mom is bringing my doggie back home today.  Later I am off to the gym and to run hopefully.  Also need to go to the grocery store.  Hope to hit the gym the next three days.  Have clothes to launder that I bought at Fla thrift stores (scored some great prices!!!!).  Off wor****il Tuesday so I am a happy camper.

The turning of the leaves is pretty much the only thing I miss about living back East.

We're in the start of the "Rainy Season" here and it makes it hard to bike ride but it turns everything green which is pretty.
