Unflavored Gelatine
Does anyone know how to make Knox Unflavored Gelatin with nectar..The recipe on the back of the Knox calls for cold fruit juice and boiling fruit juice..well can't do juice so..I'm not sure if I should just replace with water and then add nectar..but also don't want to curdle it..I'm sure there is a way to do this but I just can't think of it.help!!
Not sure what you're doing or why, but I guess I would mix the boiling water and gelatin and let it cool some. Then the Nectar protein shake, right? Blend the protein shake with cool water and slowly add the hot mixture to the cool shake.

Are you trying to make protein jello? If so, I might start with SF jello instead of unflavored then after it cools a little, mix in the protein powder. I hate jello so I can't say I have ever done it. I just know you can't mix it when it is too hot.

Yes I am trying to make protein jello for my DH who is sick of eating soup all the time...I know there is a way because you can buy the protein jello but he forgot and the doctors is too far away from where we live...I really liked the protein jello and im sure there is a way to do it..but that is a good idea to do the SF jello and then add it once it cools..was also thinking I could make a "splenda" sugar water instead of juice and follow the directions on the knox and then add the nectar when its cooling..hmm I will try tonight and let you guys know
I used the recipe from unjury, its on their site. Loved being able to mix different flavors of jello with the protein. It was a life saver.
I also would mix protein powder in pudding once on the full liquid stage.
With the knox I would make the knox and melt it with the boiling water, no need to use juice, then cool and then save some of the liquid to make a slurry with the protein then mix it in. Then pour into your containers and refrigerate.
Good luck. What a lucky hubby he is!

I started eating protein pudding when I got to that stage post-op. I also used the sugar free jello to make protein jello. Now I just buy it at GNC. The Punch flavor by Pure Protein is tolerable and a quick way to get in 23 gm of protein. I buy them when it's BOGO half off and free shipping.
