I cook everyday but it is so simple. Meat, grilled or baked and a veggie. I just got home from shopping to buy stuff to make ahead for my surgery. I'm cooking chicken thighs, taco bake, white chicken chili, veggie beef soup and a pot roast between now and Wed. Heck, I might as well cook thanksgiving dinner!!!

Warm and rainy here today so no playing.

Preparing before your surgery is probably a great idea!!   When I'm tired or not feeling well is when I have my weakness for something quick and it's usually not to healthy.

I'm not a great cook!!  DH is so picky and he won't eat anything fancier than a meat and potato.  No vegetables or things mixed all together (except cheesy potatoes).

I can't wait to cook Thanksgiving Dinner!

I see you got your totals back to Awesome!

I cook when the mood strikes or I find a recipe that I want to try.  Right now I have dozens of frozen meals that I can't identify for the most part because I didn't bother to label them and figured I would remember.  I don't.  I could literally go a month without cooking and have enough food.  Good thing because I have been sick and haven't felt like cooking.

B protein decaf coffee, oatmeal with butter and milk, banana
L ricotta bake, Nut Thins, Laughing Cow bleu cheese wedge
S Atkins Smore's protein bar
D probably butter chicken, creamy mashed cauliflower with cheese
S sugar free fudgecicle
S protein hot salted caramel cocoa
S sugar free Live Active Pudding
S almond butter

A surprise every day...that's cool.  I'm sure they are things that you like or you wouldn't have taken the time.  I know cooking ahead isn't going to happen before the holidays but I am going to make it a priority after the new year and I'll remember to label everything...thanks!

Everything looks healthy on your menu...good job!

Hi Everybody,
Skipped the gym this morning because my back has continued to bother me since the day of surgery. I don't normally have any back pain.  I saw the chiropractor and NOTHING popped.  He did some ice, heat and electric treatments of some kind and told me to rest for a couple of days.  He thinks it is a muscle or ligament that is causing the pain because it only hurts after I stand for a while.  I hope things are better tomorrow.

Sometimes the mood hits me and I want to cook.  Usually it's due to weather change and good ole memories and aroma of something simmering on the stove or baking in the oven.  That was yesterday - today it's just leftovers.

Sorry about your back hurting.  Did you go to the gym before WLS or this something new that might cause you to pull something?

I don't ever really get into the mood to cook....I HATE TO CLEAN UP AND DO DISHES!!!  I think it would be easier on me in the long run but it's something I'm going to have to force myself to start.

Your Menu makes me   when I see the Protein drinks!!

WOW...your DH must be a sweetheart!  My DH will cook his own eggs and make a sandwich if I have everything layed out but cooking...no way.  He does almsot all of the laundry though.

It takes awhile to feel better.  I think it took me close to 2 months before I felt really really good.  You will feel better it you get your liquids and vitamins in.  Do you count your shakes in your liquids?

I picked a good DH, he does most of the laundry, he's a little OCD and likes things his way, so I let him do it :)  I fold it and put it away.  I'm feeling better everyday.  I do count my shakes in my fluids.  My dr doesn't want me to start vitamins until Monday, but I have them ready.
