Pre-op shake question
My surgery is Monday and my doctor has put me on his pre-op liver diet. It's 4 Bariatric Fusion shakes a day until Sunday and then I can only have clear liquids that day.
I had my first shake today and while it doesn't taste great--I can get past that--it is upsetting my stomach a little bit. Did anyone else have this problem? Does it go away once your body adjusts to the shake? I just feel kind of gross after drinking it and I'm hoping that I don't feel that way for the next five days.
Thanks!

Hang in there!
Maybe try drinking it a little slower? Or do have difficulties with sweeteners? Or it could be from not having simple carbohydrates, that can make you feel crappy too.
Hope it gets easier for you.
Good luck on the beginning of your journey!

We had a 4 week liquid diet and several folks felt bad the first couple of days. Unfortunately, or fortunately, you might be on it just long enough to get to feeling better. We could have cucumbers and celery also so maybe eating some of those would help give your stomach something to do. They certainly won't interfer with your weigh loss or de-fatting of your liver.
