Dumping question
Will I ever stop dumping? This is really weird. I keep getting these symptoms that I believe are mild dumping. My heart beats harder and faster, I feel dizzy or woozy, and I get a headache. Sometimes it's worse than others. It last for 15 min to 1 hr. Most recently I had episodes after I ate BBQ chicken at a restaurant. This is the 3rd time that I've had the BBQ chicken at this restaurant and I had no problems before. This time I felt woozy when I got up. As I walked I could feel my heart beating and my head began to hurt. I walked slow and felt dizzy. The other time was today. I made some homemade tuna/egg salad and ate some for snack yesterday and today with wheat thins. I was fine yesterday but today I felt really funny. I had the same symptoms. My question is will this ever stop? Why do I get this feeling sometimes but not always? Will my body get used to some sugar? This seeems to be getting worse the farther out from my surgery. This is NUTS! Thanks for your feedback.
I don't have an answer but I am wondering the same thing. BBQ sauce makes me dump a lot of times though so I just try to avoid it. I have pretty limited foods that I know I will not dump on and try to eat those when out which pretty much consists of protein drinks, lunch meats, cheese, ground turkey, and salad. Anything else can and often will lead me to have mild to severe dumping and like you indicated it is worse further out. Wondering if it is dumping or rh? Hmm
I think some of us are just more sensitive to the carbs. I know I can eat a little more than I used too, and I think too many carbs just dont agree with me, especially if I am light on protein. I also find that when I am at work and eat too fast, I will dump.
I can even dump on a protein shake and my vites at work when I am in a hurry. Learned a hard lesson that day!
Sorry I am not much help, but I do know what you mean.

My first year I only dumped a few times when I accidently had regular sugar instead of sugar free but after I started adding more complex carbs and healthy fats I dumped several times. For me the symptoms are that I get very hot and sweating, heart races, I feel sick to my stomach and dizzy. Rarely throw up or have diarrhea, although I have in the past. It is different then when I dump on sugar. It is unpleasant but not unbearable, although I would rather not. In the past few weeks it has gotten a lot better but it is still unpredictable. I can eat the same exact thing every day with no problem and then one day I will dump. I am tolerating fats a lot better so that is good.
I have also dumped with too many sugar alcohols and too much fruit. I have heard that for some people it gets better and for some it gets worse.

Thanks everyone, I guess I should research reactive hypoglycemia. I was diagnosed with borderline hypoglycemia before surgery. I guess I always thought this was dumping. Whatever it is, I wi**** would stop. Because of my food allergies, I am limited in what I can eat anyway. Thanks for your feedback everyone.
