I had bladder surgery 10/11/2011 and was told to only drink water and lots of it. I did not think to ask about protein drinks. Well I continued to drink the protein. I am leaking real bad and am wondering if it is the protein drinks. Does anyone know, are protein rtd drinks and shakes made from powder hard on your bladder?

No medical expert here but I think the increased protein can be hard on your kidneys, but have never heard anything about bladders.  You need the protein to heal but it wouldn't hurt to ask your Dr about it.

thanks price,  i have a call for my doctor's nurse.  Like you  I know about kidneys, but I wonder about protein drinks.  I am trying to eat protein, but that is hard for me.

No connection between bladder troubles and protein shakes for us. We DSrs and RNYrs malabsorb protein so not as much goes through that part of our systems.
