Good Morning. Protein Values and Sources
Hi Gina,
So much of this is over my head. Would we still absorb these percentages even with some of our malabsorption?
Most of the protein that I use for my drinks is Whey Protein Isolate and if I understand that correct, it is the best for us.
I love eggs and if I cook them right, I can eat them - I'm guessing that is a good thing!! I use the Hood Calorie Countdown Milk which has a lot less carbs and calories(but I don't think it is really milk). I can't drink straight milk anymore, it just does not sit well. If I mix it with something it does ok. I use to love drinking a big glass of milk and that is one of the few things that I really miss.
Work today - need to try and get caught up.....

For all those with questions - here are some answers from a chemist (me)
All proteins contain amino acids which contain nitrogen.
The list describes what percentage of all the amino acid in the protein are absorbed and used by the body. If the proportion of amino acids isn't quite perfect, then some of the protein won't be used by the body, and will be excreted. If the proteins aren't absorbed, then some of the protein won't be used either. So it is a combination of what is digested, then utliized.
Hope that helps.

Thanks, Eliza. I had no words to explain it. I just know 100% is a good thing and those amino acids are good too otherwise they wouldn't put all that stuff on the labels of our protein shakes. lol
