From Wikipedia: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biological_value

Common foodstuffs and their values: Note: this scale uses 100 as 100% of the nitrogen incorporated.

Common foodstuffs and their values: [16] Note: These values use "whole egg" as a value of 100, so foodstuffs that provide even more nitrogen than whole eggs, can have a value of more than 100. 100, does not mean that 100% of the nitrogen in the food is incorporated into the body, and not excreted, as in in other charts.

  • Whey protein concentrate: 104
  • Whole egg: 100
  • Cow milk: 91
  • Beef: 80
  • Casein: 77
  • Soy: 74
  • Wheat gluten: 64

so I'll show my irrnorance.  Why is the nitrogen stuff important?  Does it have something to do with absorption?  I thought one of the things we were after was complete proteins?  I do get that whey protein is the best and eggs are pretty darn good too for those of us who can eat them.  Otherwise, your chart leaves me clueless.

Busy day here with meetings and stuff to do before surgery tomorrow.

Swangin' geckos for ya from Arizona Price!!  You'll be dancin' on the bar in no time at all!!

My Daddy had two knees done and he always said, while in recovery, "It hurts but it's not the same kind of hurt.  This is a good hurt."

Can't wait until you can ride again!!

thanks.  This isn't my knee but my tummy and head.  Knee is the 23rd, so not far off but I had to get these done first.

Roasted soy nuts are my newest treat to myself.  I mix them with a few chocolate chips for flavor but I have found honey roasted soy nuts.
