NSV..... Ran my first 5K in the gym!!

I have been training with a running group for a 5K in early December.   When I started jogging this spring I could run a total of 2 minutes straight!!!  Today I ran for 40 minutes and did 3 whole miles.  I was so proud of myself.  This is HUGE for me.  I have been struggling some these past two months as my weight has been in a stall and it has been frustrating as I am really working hard at this.  After going to a retreat last month I put the scale in the garage.  I will weight myself again later this month before my surgeon appt.   It was discouraging and my body has been getting smaller but the scale number just would not move.  It is wonderful though to focus on the other gifts of this surgery.....MY health.  I am doing things I NEVER thought I could.  It is a true gift.

Hurray for you jennifer.  You will do fine in Dec especially with a little extra excitement from the race.  When I was running, my goal was just to finish.  If I finished, as far as I was concerned, I won.  You are a winner already.  You go girl.

WOW- congratulations and that's a HUGE accomplishment!  I miss running on the treadmill, was my choice activity (along with Zumba), thus the "spread" and "gain'...

I'm sure the scale will be very kind to you, especially if you're noticing you're getting smaller.
