How to JUST SAY NO to "bad" or TOO MUCH holiday foods. :-)

I totally understand your perspective.  I sequestered myself during my fat years and most of my extended family never saw me when I was fat... it will do me good to remember that at the next reunion (which I will finally be attending) because I won't be getting any ganormous compliments.  What they don't know won't hurt them.  :-)   However, if anytime somebody does ask about my weight, depending on who it is, I am quick to tell them I could not have done it without surgical intervention.

You are absolutely right though, Ava... putting a bite of most everything on your plate and then eating just what you want, is an ideal way to avoid drawing attention and being able to enjoy a casual, formal, or Holiday meal with others.  They don't really care what we're eating unless we choose to make them focus on us.

I think the hair on my back bristled a little because of the inference that the intent of the post was about how to work around the RNY during the holiday, when in fact it was about how to work the RNY without offending any hosts or hostesses.

Glad we are on the same page and glad to see you!

Luff & Later,
Ruthie

I don't know if I dump so I say (to those that know I have had surgery), "I could eat that but it may make me violently ill.  I think I will skip that option right now".

I have been very open about my surgery with family and friends.  And being still just 7 weeks out, i think i will use my standby,  Ummmm, looks good but the pouch says no. So i had better pass.

I tell people I LOVE being SKINNY and it's more important to me to be skinny ...so no thank you...
that's that  and it's true....I met a friend who told me this...she said she doesn't go out to eat and
she eats healthy when at friend's houses...makes good choices and says no thanks when offered more and if they ask she is honnest and says..." I love being skinny and this is what I need to do to stay this way!" and it's true...and honnest ....SEAVIEW
