You REALLY don't want me to eat that! {That's a DS specific warning and close family will know exactly what you mean...lol}

I wish I could have some but I'm sensitive to.... gluten, sugar, or veggies like broccoli. {Hmm...maybe another DS specific warning}

Ok, I'll stick with your suggestions--they're much more polite. lol

Toooo funny!

(and to have to issue those kinds of DS specific warnings makes me go Hmmmm...   *****ally has a leg to stand on when it comes to surgery wars?  There's pros and cons to each and every one!)

lol  My answer really was a spoof on the surgery wars. I eat a little bit of everything and everyone is happy.

I hadn't seen this morning's main forum post by you yet when I posted that.  Now I GET IT!!

dah!

But, I was still intended it as a dig regarding the ds'r who bowed out of coming to our new meeting here because we're not ds'rs - still a little crushed & befuddled over that being a good reason to avoid meeting with other WLS patients.  Why can't they all be like us LW's so we could all just get along???  LOL

Hi Ava... you're preachin' to the choir girl!  LOL

The problem that *I* encounter is an in-law family whose world revolves around food and MAMA just has a hard time taking NO for an answer.

Sorry if you misunderstood the intent of this topic.  I guess the title was misleading.... maybe.

Love ya and thanks for the kick in the butt.  I think.

no kicking intended

I was just seriously surprised myself how ridiculously easy it was to get away with totally altered post op eating patterns with folks whod seen me overeat all my life .....

which led me to the conclusion that they never really noticed or cared WHAT i ate or even THAT i ate lol

other peoples families and friends are quite different im sure . The traditional dinner party remedy .. taking a bit of the food to be polite and pushing it around on the plate WILL work in extremis ... I do that when the chef of the house is transparently seeking compliments
