Thanks waiting to get in to see him. I didnt know if I was too old for the pill. Thought maybe the mirena iud or possible ablation. Glad to know the pill may be an option.

Can I ask you why ferrous fumerate?  It is one of the hardest irons on the stomach and very difficult to absorb.  Not very good for us postop.  Have you tried carbonyl iron from vitalady.com called tender iron? They are really easy on the stomach, non constipating and you can take them all in one dose, no matter how many you need to take. People take anywhere from 1 to 5 per day, all at one time depending on how low there iron and ferritin levels are.  there is also heme iron which is much more expensive but works even better, and is used if the tenders don't work, many use a combination of the two - it is called Proferrin.

As far as the as the synthroid - it needs to be taken 2 hours apart from iron or calcium and on an empty stomach - you are best taking the synthroid either first thing in the morning or right before bed, and the iron the opposite, with the calciums in between.

I take my thyroid in the niht when I get up to pee.

I take my iron about an hour after Bfast, with vit C and fruit. I just separate by one hour from other foods and vites, roughly. Sometimes more, never less.

My iron is 107 (35-170) and ferritin is 509. Must be working

P.S.  My year + long absence has NOTHING to do with my WLS, or my type of WLS. See my profile.
