Havign to postpone my VSG

I saw Ortho today for my torn meniscus and they drained my knee, injected cortisone, and told me I need surgery. Due to my injury being work related I have a timeframe to get the surg completed. That's not the issue. The issue is, my work wont let me return from VSG until I am 100% cleared by the surgeon. Then once I am cleared (liftine and all restrictions removed) they will return me to work light duty for my knee injury. So they will have me use 30 plus sick days for VSG, and the clock for surgical repair of my knee, and the rehab following will still be running. Basically, it's a trick bag. Soooooo, I called the surgeon and faxed the information for my knee so that I wont be penalized, and I can reschedule. I'm bummed, but I know this isn't a NO, it's just a not yet. I just wanted to update everyone who have been keeping track of this with me. THANK YOU for your thoughts, help, and prayers.

It will happen, the only question now is when. I had to postpone mine from may till july. I was disappointed but after a tough recovery, it was a much needed delay. Then the rny was a cake walk.

I know you must be bummed.  I'm glad I got to do my RNY before knee instead of having to do it after.  My recovery should be easier 100lbs lighter.

It will happen and you will be thrilled with the results.  Sorry you got delayed though.

You must be so disappointed to delay your VSG.  Good luck on your knee surgery, and on getting a new date.on your VSG.

Awe...that's to bad.  It sounds like your knee has to be top priority right now.  Prayers for a speedy recovery!
