It Was Worth The Fight!

At my house it hasn't been just the carb monster-it was getting to be carb hell.  I was reverting to the seefood diet (you know the one-see food, eat it) and I wasn't happy.
So last night hubby and I are mindlessly eating carbs when I realize what I am putting in my mouth doesn't even taste good. So.....
I convinced hubby to let me throw out ALL the opened carb packages (and there were lots) and donate the unopened ones to a food bank.  We actually threw out an entire large kitchen garbage bag of crap!

Of course, he sees the  money down the drain-I see our stomachs getting smaller.  I win

I agree, you won.  Every battle makes the war easier to win.  Hurray for you.

I think I am very lucky that my DH and I have different additions.  He can have his in the house and it doesn't bother me at all.

 Thanks Roz,

I won't be able to buy more.  I just signed up for a personal trainer at the gym.  More expensive than carbs, but much more fulfilling.

 Price,
You are lucky.  Larry will eat anything!  And I finally realize that he is an emotional eater, too.  Since he has always been small, I don't think anyone ever noticed.  But we are on track now.  In fact, I joined a new gym and just got a personal trainer.  Of course I haven't actually told Larry about the trainer yet! LOL

I know it'salways going to be a struggle with those carbs.  As they say, the surgery didn't fix our heads.  There are some things I can have in the house and leave alone and others I just can't.
Snacks at work have also been a challange--especially the halloween treats.  Thank goodness its located in our kitchen--so I try to avoid that area except to get my lunch out of the frig.

My head is in a good place right now, so I'm going to make the best of it and work on getting a couple of those creeper lbs back off.

Good luck.  Sounds like you've made a good start.

Congrats on working on those "creeper" pounds.  What a good description!

Bravo!!  Re-losing weight that you've already shed once is way more costly than that bag you dumped.  I recently had to dump a big bag of pistaccio nuts because I was looking forward to my 1 ounce a day way too much!  Sometimes the mental obsession is just as bad as the hand to mouth one.  I have to keep carbs out of my house because I'd be trying to figure out how to get them into my daily food plan.   I am far less likely to obsess over a chicken breast!

Good job!!

I hear you Lee! Some nights when I look at that chicken breast I just have to think...ok, I might not enjoy this, but it will keep me alive
