doing it just for you
I picked up the bass guitar about 15 years ago and learned how to play it. I've been in a band for the last ten years playing bars. I never seemed to have the time or energy to practice, and was happy with how I played. These last few weeks have been great!!!! I have been practicing 3 to 5 hours every day and studying music theory. Most of all, I've realized that I'm not nearly as good of musician that I can be. Thanks to my new chance at life, I've decided that I'm going see if I can become "that" musician that I want to be. Not so I can show off or be famous, but because I enjoy making music and it is something I can do for me.
What has wls allowed or inspired you to do just for you?

My new passion is Pilates. I just can't get enough of it. Classes 3x a week and then also doing it at home after walking/hiking. I honestly can't believe how great it feels to move.
I had a long weekend because a friend was visiting from out of town, this is how the weekend looked:
Thursday night - Pilates class
Friday - Redwoods, 8.5 mile walk
Saturday - 5k walk
Sunday - 5k walk
Tonight is Pilates class again
Now where is all that eating out, shopping and movies that we used to do? I love the change in what I crave!
Bravo on becoming your best musician self!

Great for you about your music!

I live in a mostly desert terrain state (AZ), and love to be outside but couldn't take the heat while I was so heavy. This past summer was the first time I was able to get out in it and do the things I love, and some things that I didn't know I WOULD love! Specifically:
Riding a horse for hours
Spending a whole day out on a quad, in the heat, just exploring
Prospecting for pretty rocks and minerals
Working in a garden for the first time in 30+ years
Walking/jogging with my dogs
Life is good! Thanks for the prompting to cultivate my Attitude of Gratitude, Wade!
Have a great day!
I love Zumba. I always played sports in school, but have been very inactive in my adult life. Never thought I would like any type of group exercise, but I absolutely love it and would recommend it to anyone. Everyone kind of does their own thing so no one is watching you.
I have also found a new love for walking/jogging and have done several 5K's and one 10K. I hope to do more, but have not done much training lately - need to get back at it.
