Feeling the need to get back on the WAGON!~
Small moment of YAYness this past week though. I had to go to a funeral in the small community that I grew up in. I got the most compliments. I told my husband I got more "You are so beautifuls in one day than he has given me in the whole last year" Guess I need to use this as my fuel to stay on track.
I am going to tell my assistant at school to put those dang candy pumpkins under lock and key! When I am stressed I will grab one in a heartbeat. NOT GOOD FOR MY WELLNESS PLAN!
I am going to dig my heals in and try hard this week. Keep me in your prayers!

This afternoon I went to the gym and did a total workout. I'll be feeling it totally tomorrow, but I had truly forgotten how good it feels to workout. My goal is to exercise a minimum of 3 times, and I hope to get in 4 this week.

I have learned that for me exercise is my first priority and everything else is a distant second, simply because if I get my exercise in, everything else follows. The days I don't exercise are the days the bad habits creep or stomp in.
One blessed day at a time.

I can't imagine how hard this would be with kids to carry places. Mine are grown so I can concentrate more on just "ME"..
We used to do an exercise post each day on here - do you think that would help?

So I am going to start counting protein grams and I am making some rules for myself. No more than X of certain foods I can't control a day, mostly. Also, I'm trying to go for "protein first" more than I had been.
I started this a few days ago when my scale showed 129!!!
So far, it's going okay. I have had a protein shake with 54 g of protein most days just like I was when I was working. I made sure to buy a lot of individual servings of cottage cheese and yogurt enough though I feel so lazy doing that. I know I will eat them vs. dishing out cottage cheese from the big bucket. I also bought a lot of nuts because it's better to snack on them than to snack on Erin Baker Breakfast Cookies and other carby snacks.
We'll see how it goes.

I think this is our new normal. We aren't always going to be at our lowest (and most of us probably shouldn't be) and sometimes we aren't going to eat as well as other times. Our weight is going to fluctuate. Also, we may put on a few pounds over time as we get older just like people who have never had a weight problem do.
What is different for me is that my VSG:
-limits the damage I can do to myself
-makes it easier to get back in control when life happens
Right now I am exactly two months out from IM Canada. I spent September kind of lounging around doing hardly any workouts (by my standards) and a lot of Oct. doing the same. But the Goofy Challenge is coming up and I've already done two Half Marathons and I've got a marathon on my calendar for early Dec. So I need to kick it into gear. I am up to 3.5 hours a week running and I'm trying to get up to 6 hours a week of running. I've also signed up for a 200km brevet (bike event) next week and am thinking about doing a Double Century in March.
I suspect that I will be lean and trim in just two months' time. It would be better if I had a job but I am definitely done lounging around due to recovering from my IM and ready to get going on the next big thing.
I don't think I will be logging my food again any time soon. I just got really tired of doing it. I did it for three years!! I have been thinking about putting my BodyMedia FIT back on to see how the running works for my calorie burn and, if I do that, I will have to at least nominally keep track of my food or I won't get as much ot if it. I also think I need to track my protein intake even if I don't track anything else.
