Feeling More Discouraged
Just because your labs were normal in January, how dose that in any way shape or form tell her that they are normal now? It has been 11 months? I am 3 years out and still get my labs done every 3 months and still find things wrong every time. I can't possibly imagine going an entire year without getting labs done - that is insane. For someone like you who is malabsorbing so much, she should understand that.
Just that fact that a doctor would say that if you are 20 minutes late, not only are you turned away but possibly dismissed for good- I wouldn't want that doctor. Has she ever kept you waiting 20 minutes? That is okay but you can't show up 20minutes late - that is crazy. She should be reported to someone - you can't just dismiss patients like that.
Being you have so much trouble with sugars - have you seen an endocrinologist? This might be a good option for you. I dont' know if you have hypoglycemia or not but it is a possiblitity. Endocrinologists are very up on WLS and many even have dieteicians. Mine does all my labs, I usually don't even have to tell her what to do but if I ask for something extra, she will always do it. My endo is also the one that gave me the pancreatic enzymes.

I have had my labs done since then, just the basics. I wanted the complete set that Vitalady suggests. I think they took like 18 or 20 vials. With the regular labs they only take 3 or 4. Even though my insurance pays with no problem they still refuse. I am looking for another doctor who is familar with WLS patients and it isn't panning out right now. I will look into seeing an endocrinologist.
