New Central AZ Social Support Group Meeting

Hello Everybody!  I've already posted in the Arizona forum, but bear with me while I strive to get the word out to others who may not visit that forum.  Thanks! 

There are two of us here in Central AZ, that have met together a couple of times and we've tossed around the idea and know that a support group is needed up here.  So, we jumped in feet first and are announcing an invite to all Arizonians in the Prescott/Verde Valley areas AND BEYOND that might be interested in joining us. We're talking about a social gettogether once a month to have a bite to eat and to talk about WLS life, our successes, our downfalls, our questions, and generally support each other out here in the wild wild west.  LOL 

Place:  Denny's in Camp Verde (Behind Taco Bell - exit east on Hwy 260)
Time:   5:30 pm until whenever you need to leave
Day:    Third Thursday of each month, except Nov & Dec to be the 2nd Thursday

YES IT IS!!   I was surprised how easy and natural it was to become friends and relax.  I hope more will join us!

Wish I was more computer savvy. Maybe my 15 year old can help me set up skype or we could plan to occassionally have some chat sessions.

Awwwww... thank you 'mam! 

I set up skype to use for communicating with my boss in the Caribbean and it's easy and fun... except when he sends a request for a video chat and I'm in my nightgown scrambling for one of my husbands button up shirts that ends up being on inside out.  ROFL! 

But, one of my favorite things in the world to do is type so chatting is da bomb!  We moved out here from Ohio y'know...  is that an ice breaker or what??  hahaha

Just let me know so I'll go online if I'm not already.  :-)  I'd love it!

One of my favorite NUTs moved to Tucson last year or so. I wonder if she'd want to get added to our LW FB group? Hmm... Maybe she would join you guys when you get together. Her name is Sally and she's a friend of Vitalady's too.

That would be terrific Gina!  Tucson is big enough there may be adequate meetings going on there, but we're talking about quality here too.  Tucson is 3.5 hours from the meeting place, so regular attendance would be a stretch for her, but there's no reason we couldn't come to some sort of arrangement from time to time... meet her halfway, bring the meeting to her, host her overnight here maybe?  If you can talk to her about joining us on FB, maybe she'd decide she'd like to make our meeting.  We'd love to have her!!  A friend of Vitalady's is a friend of ours!

I bet you dont miss the ohio winters now that you're in Arizona.

You might think I'm nuts, but being a desert rat (born & raised in El Paso, TX) I really loved the Ohio storms.  But, yeah... we get down in the 30's a few times during the winter storms here but mostly it's a balmy 55 or thereabouts.  It's awesome living in Central AZ because Phoenix 70 degree winter temps are just 75 miles south and Flagstaff's 80 degree summer temps are only 90 miles north. 

Two idioms for you...

"If you don't like the weather, just keep drivin'... it'll change."
