Good Morning. Fall is in the air... doo dah, doo dah

Why do I love the Fall season so much? What is it about Fall?  Maybe it's the smells and colors. Or, maybe it's the feel of cool mornings and mildly warm afternoons. I don't know, I just love it though. I imagine Price driving her buggy through the Appalachian Mountains and I just have to smile. I think of Jody up there in the northern rural areas of Michigan or along the lake and wish I was there. I love this community of LWs and the way we share our environments through our posts. It has definitely broadened my mental images and made me aware that there are places I want to go and people I want to meet.

Y'all have a great Friday!

Fall into Christmas are my favorite parts of the year!!! It's finally cool enough to snuggle in the blankets on the bed yet warm enough at the same time.

We had the daughter and her husband stop overnight on their way back home. They had gone up to visit his family on the Detroit side of Michigan. They actually live in Alabama outside of Birmingham.

My daughter has always been a skinny minnie...but she is pregnant now and of course she is getting bigger in the middle and gaining a wee bit of weight. Anyway, she ended up with my TOO BIG size 8 jeans cause she said her 6's were tight in the middle. She normally wears a 0-4. One of her parting comments was "stop losing, you're making me look fat", told her she had a very good reason and she would be back down afterwards..(she's an exercise fanatic and watches what she eats). My son in law told me I was downright SKINNY!!!

I have always loved autumn, the leaves crunching under your feet, and the colors so bright against a blue sky. The sun on your face feeling the warmth on a cool day! Love it! But here in cleveland this year it is very rainy, thank goodness we had a few good days here and there. Buddy gets all wound up because the air is cooler, he is such a goofy lab! But no matter how cool it gets, he will be in the chagrin river or bouncing into lake erie!
Enjoy your day!

Normally I think fall is the prettiest season here in Ohio, but this year it is just wet and nasty.  We tried taking our granddaughter for fall festivities last weekend, but it was too wet for the hay ride, petting farm, etc.  Fortunately she's so young, she had lots of fun picking out a pumpkin and playing on the grounds.

Oh well, next year I could be complaining about how dry it is.  Weather is a fickle thing.

So fall in the San Francisco Bay Area is beautiful but nothing like the east coast...where I used to live..but the nights get cool and you need a sweatshirt or a fleece...sleeping is wonderful...and then the sun comes in during the day and some of the leaves change...and fall ...and go crunch...
but it's also really bipolar here because you can have 65 degree days and then you'll have a 85 degree day...particularly Halloween can be hot...which is not fun when the kids are sweating to death in their little costumes...but I love it...and next week I'm going to Tahoe for a few days to enjoy the fall weather...that should be heavenly.... I love the WLS community too.. but it is thanks to wonderful leaders like you Gina that makes it so special....this does not happen by itself...

I used to be a summer, warm weather girl (grew up in Southern California) but as I get older, and hit menopause and the dreaded hot flashes, I have grown to love the cooler weather.  I used to think I made a mistake moving to Oregon where it is gray and dreary much of the time and now I think it is the perfect place to live.  It is easier for me to warm up then it is to cool down.
I still haven't turned the heat on and I hope I don't have to.  In the past I have only turned on the heat when it hits freezing.  I love wearing my fuzzy robe that my son and dil got me for Christmas several years ago.  I love having my hot coffee or tea when I get up.  I love snuggling with my dogs (all 4 of them) and feeling their warmth.  I love my new electric blanket and cuddling up in it in the morning.  I don't even mind the snow except to drive in it.  Bring on winter.

Living in Southern California I look forward to the change in weather.  Fall here is crisp air in the mornings and cool afternoons.  It's cool enough in the evenings to open your windows for fresh air and turn off the air conditioner.  Moving 4 weeks ago, I left a home (town) that I have lived in all of my life that has only horse trails (nicely kept) instead of sidewalks. I now live where there are sidewalks and I love it.  A short walk across the street are 2 lakes divided by a beautiful bridge (see pic below) that I walk around each morning for an hour.  I love to watch the ducks swim and the the sun rise over the lakes.  Lovely time of the year.

Summer is my favorite (mainly because we don't have it very long), then Spring because it promises summer, then Fall.  I missed fall this year here - the leaves turned and pretty much all feel off by the time I got back 2 weeks later.  We've had several storm systems move through that had very high winds, and blew them off the trees.  Tomorrow will be sunny and around 50 and we're heading into Traverse City.  It should be very pretty.  One of those perfect days to wear a heavier sweater and take a walk along the beach.

Fall is my favorite season.  I feel like the days are slowing down, I go to bed earlier, and just feel cozy in the evenings.
