Day 25 Post Op - Pureed Tuna???
Ruthie,
Wow! Thanks for all these tips. Question - In my notebook for RNY patients it says that nuts are a food to avoid forever. But I see so many people that eat almonds, walnuts etc. Your thoughts?

Hey Elizabeth! You're welcome. I hope some of them are really helpful to you. :-)
I've never heard that we should avoid nuts forever, but I've been told not to *abuse* them. I know that we are to eat them because they supply us with good fats... but in moderation because those fats have calories, of course. I only use raw nuts (rather than roasted) because I believe roasting destroys some of the vits and minerals or whatever they are made of... surely NOT because I prefer the taste. ROFL!
I DO count out my nuts... a serving is 10 or 12 max, per day... it's too easy to eat the whole thing without realizing it. But then, I also still use my 3 oz. cappuchino cups (compliments of a thrift shop) for my meals. If I want more after I've finished the 3 oz., it's an option I leave available, but usually the 3 oz. is enough to hold me for a while.
All things in moderation ... Listen to your body...

I never pureed fish including tuna. Just add a little mayo and pickle juice and ma**** up good. Forget the crackers. Just eat it.

Can you eat Ricotta cheese? Last night for a dessert I made ricotta cheese, chopped almonds, a packet of splenda, some Sugar free french vanilla syrup and diced up strawberries...yummy! the whole family enjoyed it and it is soft. would make a great breakfast. Could probably add sugar free preserves in place of actual fruit and any fruit will work. Today I will make it with mango for my snack at work this week!
