Good Morning. Sounds good in theory
NUT #1- Normal people need a minimum of 50 grams of protein a day, so in theory WLS patients only need...oh, let's say 60 or 70. NUT#2 - Sounds good to me.
NUT #1 - Normal people get most of their nutrients from food, so in theory that should work for WLS patients especially sense they were obese and probably have plenty of vitamins on board. NUT #2 - I agree, food is probably enough but let's throw in some chewable vitamins. My kid likes Flintstones, let's push those. NUT #1 - You're so smart.
NUT#1 - Obese people are not able to follow a diet. Let's keep them so full they can't eat the first year and maybe they won't die from malnutrition...at least they'll be skinny. NUT #2 - Ok, we'll make them eat nothing but chicken breast and they won't be able to eat anything for hours because they will be so full. NUT #1 - You're so smart. NUT #2 - Oh, no protein shakes. They won't keep them full enough and they might go over 70 grams of protein a day.
NUT #1 - We forgot grains, fruits and veggies. NUT #2 - Umm, ok....how about 2 ounces or meat, 1/2 cup of grains, 1/2 cup of green veggies and a fruit at each meal. NUT #1 - Ok. How big are their stomachs again? Oh, it doesn't matter, they should have a balanced diet and the Flintstones will be enough.
NUT #2 - Oh my! What about dairy? NUT #1 - Yikes! Ok, hmmm...no fat allowed, so only skim milk but we can't let them drink it around meals or the dense food will wash out of their stomachs too fast and they might not stay full. NUT #2 - You're so smart.

NUT #1 - So you're having difficulty in following your 3rd week menu of 1/2 cup soft pureed foods + 1/2 of a banana? Just forget the food and only drink your protein. NUT #2 - But what about gradually introducing new foods in smaller amounts so that she can eventually have real people food?
NUT #1 - She shouldn't put another bite of food in her mouth - she can't be trusted. Protein shakes will be her diet for the rest of her life if she wants to live long enough to see her grand kids marry.
NUT #2 - You're so smart. Longevity is what everyone really wants.

This might be a silly request to you but could you post a picture of yourself so I can see who I'm talking to? I am feeling like I've found a new friend but I don't know what she looks like. I love my dog too and had her picture up for my first profile but soon realized I wanted to see peoples faces. Is my request too weird? If so, I'll understand. I and just dream up a vision in my head - someone like Demi Moore, eh?

NUT #2 - Right on. We get all of our info from that big white book written by the American something or other with all the initials. We know it's all correct information and works for all WLS patients. It must! Just look at Gina.
NUT #1 - We do take credit for that y'know.
