Hi LW's, I'm back!

I know you must have thought I was MIA again, but I had you on my mind every day, on my vacation to Hawaii!!

I didn't mention it, I'm kind of superstitious, plus I was afraid of having to eat out every meal.

I'm proud to report to you guys that I actually lost 2 pounds!!!! I tried to eat mostly protein, limit achohol, too expensive anyway, and it worked.

But honestly I don't know how I did it, I feel like I ate more than I do here at home. Maybe it was the little more walking I did, but it wasn't a lot. What ever it was, I need to keep it up.

So, I'm back, I've still feel like my WLS is working for me, I'm happy I can come here to be with each of you.

Mari

Welcome home.  I understand your reluctance about the food.  We are going on a cruise next week and I'm not feeling very brave about all that food too.  Glad you had a good time.

Price,
Good to get in a cruise before your knee surgery.  Where are you cruising to?  We love to cruise too.  The day before my surgery my husband booked a cruise for next June 2012, out of Copenhagen into Russia, Sweden, Norway etc. Then 4 days in Paris and 2 days in Monte Carlo to celebrate our 40th anniversary.  Very ellaborate trip for us but DH says you only celebrate your 40th once in a lifetime.  Also, with his one new knee and the other going out any day he wants to travel while he's feeling up to it.  So we have almost a year to pay for it.  Too bad he doesn't like beans or I'd be cooking them every night to save some money LOL!

We are just doing a short one to Bahama.  just 2 nights on board and a nights before and after in Fla.  Good thing it is short because life is too busy right now to fit anymore in.  What a wonderful trip that will be for you.  And you will be super skinny by then,

Thanks! I actually prefer the cruise food options. Try not to sweat it. When eating off the buffet, eat your protien first. Take a bite or two of the foods you want to taste, chances are they won't taste that great but you'll have satisfied your curiosity. If you go to the dining room, you get sooo much food that just eat a small portion of each course and you should be ok. Another thing we did, DH and I would share an entree. We had no problems with any restaurant doing that. Mostly because it was so darned expensive and with me eating only half of anything at the most it was a great way to go. Have a blast on your cruise girl friend!

Hi Mari,
What island did you visit?  We're going in February to Maui.  I'm excited to see the whales.  We have a timeshare that we use there every year.  Last February both my daughters and their families came along and we had a great time.  We usually only eat out a couple of times while we're there and BBQ the rest of the time.  What was your favorite part about your trip?  Is it true that post RNY we should not eat pineapple?

Hi Elizabeth,

We were on Maui 5 nights and Oahu 4 nights.

Funny you should ask. We got fresh pineapple at the swap meet at the Aloha Stadium and o ate 2 small pieces and it made me sick, I'm nearly 3 years out.

My favorite thing was watching the sunset while suffers waited for their perfect waves on North Shore Oahu at Turtle Bay. But there were many memorable moments.

I went on a cruise a year ago and came home with no extra pounds also. I think it has to do with snacking. Have fun.

Mari

Welcome back, Mari. Would you hide me in your bags next time you go to Hawaii?

Hi Gina, you betcha. It was a trip of a life time for us for sure. I was there 30 years ago, my DH was there 20 years ago, first time together. It's an effort for us to get away. We just don't do it easily, so it may have been our one and only.
