Good Morning. Think I'll go to work early...

I've been up since 3:30 and I really don't want to work past 4:30 this afternoon. Or, maybe I could take a nap until 6:30 this morning, but after 2 protein coffees that's pretty doubtful. lol  I really need to get my internal clock adjusted.

Did anybody see the article saying there was a "study" (and I use the term lightly) indicating that vitamins in older woman causes early death? LOL  The FDA will use this to try to get vitamins under their control. If you have an opportunity to write to your Congressman to not support the FDA's efforts, please do it. Have a great Tuesday!

Yeah, I saw the news article, Gina, it also says IF you do not have intestinal issues...which all of us with WLS have...so we are in their "exception" group.

But I found it interesting that after all these years of pushing a multivitamin, they are now saying it's a problem.

But then we've gone thru this with different foods...good for you/bad for you/ back to good for you...eggs come to mind.

I wish that they would do ALL the studies before jumping out there with recommendations.

It was an associative study, not a causative study (who knows how those are spelled)  Anyway, the vitamins were taken by the group who died early and not by the group who didn't but there is no cause effect study, just that they were in the picture.  Didn't worry me any, we know we have to take our vits and we are careful with stuff like zinc and copper.

Dr's appointment for my little hernia and the lumps on my head (probably cysts) today.  I wish the darn scheduler for my knee would call back.  This is getting worse than WLS trying to schedule because the lady never answers her phone and never calls back.  Part of the message on the phone is to not leave multiple messages.  Geeze.

I ordered some new protein from GNC last night.  A carmel toffee fudge and  somekind of mocha.  Will let you know how they are when they come.

Price, do you have an email address for your doctor's office? Esp one for your doctor? We found with dh that if he wasn't getting a response, to email the next time with the doctor's email in the cc line...gets a response EVERY single time, LOL.

I don't but I did think that I might stop in the office when I was in town anyway today to see if she could come to the window.  This is getting crazy.  My appt was Sept 29 and I have heard from her once last week, missed the call, called back within 10 minutes and haven't heard from her again.  The surgeon said he could schedule within 3 or so weeks but I haven't even talked to her and it has been that long.

Price,
My husband had a knee replacement last June.  But it took him 3 months being on a waiting list to have the actual surgery.  UGH!  It was terrible because he could barely walk.  It was worth the wait - he loves his new knee.  I hear you loud and clear about your frustration - it's a waiting game - and not a fun one at that.  Maybe you could ask to get on the cancellation list (just incase someone cancels their surgery).  Just a thought.

I love to hear about new wonderful knees.  Can't wait for one myself.  If I could just talk to the scheduler, I would feel better about it.

I had the same issue with my pre-admissions appt at the hospital  They called, I set up an appointment, then they call my house (I was out of town).  They called to reschedule (the house), and left me a number to call.  No response for a whole week....Finally I got a number of a supervisor from my surgeon, and they got me in contact.  I'd rather be on hold for an hour than to leave a message on a machine that doesn't get returned.

I also had an issue with a credit card that way - they kept charging me fees after I cancelled it, and confirmd that it was all paid up.  Thus, you can;t really cancel the card, even though it's cut up.  So finally I said it was lost, got a person, who sent me back to the prompt.  So I hung up, and called about a lost card again.  The third time, they actually put me in touch with a person.  They said it's not part of the prompt, but if do something like push 6,7,333, you'll get a person.  Ya, I would have figured that out....

Gina, if I don't ease up on writing my Congressman, and other Gov trash, I'm afraid that they shall soon come take my computer away....
