Happy with 1 yr visit with surgeon-YEAH
Just a thought but... A few years ago I was diagnosed Bipolar. I was put on all kinds of meds which just made me feel worse and no one could figure out how to treat me. Then I had allergy testing and found out that I'm severely allergic to wheat and gluten intolerant. Bipolar disorder is completely gone since I left the wheat and gluten behind. Had the rest of the family tested and my brother, sister, son and daughter are all allergic as well. My brothers mental problems are almost completely gone since he stopped eating it six months ago and he lost 70 pounds. I also had severe sleep disorders and they are gone as well. There is nothing worse than feeling depressed and nothing cooler than feeling mani****il you crash. I'm so glad mine was allergy related and have researched wheat and mental illness. There are a lot of articles online that are associating gluten or wheat intolerance with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.
Tracey,
I'm so glad you were able to get off meds and found out about your wheat and gluten allergies, too. I have a good friend who found out he had celiac disease after getting zillions of colds ever since childhood. I'll look into it. If my daughter seems willing, I'll share the info with her. It's certainly worth a try!
Unfortunately in my daughter's case I don't think she will be as lucky. She had a very traumatic chldhood (I adopted her at age 8) and she also has static encephalopathy of the left temporal lobe which causes her difficulty with making logical choices sometimes. I also thinks she would be able to lower her dependence on meds if she were willing to go to therapy to deal with all her past issues. I'm just praying she hits rock bottom soon so that she can begin the climb up!

Hi Janet,
I'm so glad you made the appointment to get your labs done and see the doctor. What an accomplishment you've made this year. You are such an inspiration. Thank you for sharing.
I hope things calm down for you on the home front soon. You're a very strong woman to deal with all that you've been dealt. May today bring you sunshine and laughter. Again Congrats!
